I get the feeling like little to none of these people are in health care. {#emotions_dlg.blink}{#emotions_dlg.laugh}

There is something to be said for the confidence it bring upon you.

You don't see a podiatrist every time you get an ingrown toenail.. do you? This poses an even greater threat than the cyst on your face. This could go on and on.

What are you talking about?

I'm not in health care, so yes, I have confidence in the fact that I know better than to take a needle to my face.

If you've ever ventured over to the "weird part" of YouTube by mistake, chances are you've see the lancing of cysts & boils or spider-bites gone bad. IknowIknow...it's like a bad accident you can't un-see (!), but it serves as a lesson NOT to DYI. SO much can go wrong. I think I got a little dizzy just reading all this! Leave it to the professionals.

I'm almost ashamed to admit that I've spent hours over on the weird side, lol! You are right about not being able to "unsee", but it's like a car crash - you just can't look away! {#emotions_dlg.scared}

If you do decide to lance yourself ( this would be my first choice) clean the area with alcohol before you do it, immediately after removing the lancet, use a warm sterilized piece of gauze to express it, then cover with an anti biotic. These can get infected easily afterwards if you mess around with them too much, like picking with fingers etc. Just be careful.

Just an FYI - and not trying to scare you - but my daughter had a big facial cyst that turned out to be a huge basal cell cancer that needed MOHs surgery. It had every appearance of an underground zit, which we've all experienced at some time or another. She went to the dermatologist for help and it was diagnosed and she was immediately referred for surgery. It was on her chin and she was 22 years old. Every other person there for MOHs that day were in their 50s or older. I'm sure yours is nothing to be concerned about, but I just thought it might be worth having a Derm check it out IF it doesn't go away.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

I did make an appt with my dermatologist. Will see her a week from Wed.The cyst has shrunk a bit but it's been over 10 days. I did put warm compresses on it and some b. peroxide but I think I need a cortisone injection. This just happened out of the blue. I haven't had one of these in many a year since I just celebrated my 75th birthday.
