The makeup counter at the downtown Woolworth's was totally mesmerizing to me as a young teenager. I bought Cutex lipsticks for a quarter each -- all in sparkly light pinks that were almost white (hey! it was the 60's). Also, the Maybelline mascara that was a solid in a tiny red case - a drawer of the little case slid out and had a tiny brush for applying the mascara. You had to wet the brush, rub it on the mascara, and apply it quickly before it dripped all over your face.
When "Blush-On" powder blush first came out, a girlfriend and I rushed to Woolworth's to buy it -- we both got a different color so we could trade.
Clearasil. Heaven Scent cologne. Bonne Bell. Breck Shampoo and Tame Rinse.

You can find the "old school" products at most Dollar Stores. ![]()

Have you ever seen the Clairol Herbal Essence original there? Thanks for the tip! I've looked at all the Clairon herbal shampoos and none of them seem like the original. I use Wen, but I'd get that even to use as a shower gel. I just love that scent. It brings me back to various times in junior high.

oh I forgot. My teenage babysitter always had those clear roll on type lipglosses that made your lips super shiny and always yummy flavors like bubble gum, cola, grape, etc. You could pop out the little roller ball if you weren't careful. I don't remember if they were around by the time I was a teenager but I loved playing with hers and thought I looked so glamourous with my shiny shiny lips even though it didn't last long because they were so yummy that I licked them off in a matter of minutes. LOL
ETA: I am sure they don't make things like that anymore- can anyone say choking hazard with those little balls? ha!

Yes. We have several different "Dollar" type stores where I live. The stores w/the old school products are called "The Dollar Store."

Bonne Bell 10-0-6 toner. This was expensive for what it was, an alcohol based toner.
Cuticura gray soap...supposedly an acne cure.
Angel Face foundation in ivory. The shade was too light for my skin but I felt grownup wearing foundation in the 8th grade!

Most have already been mentioned, like DippityDo!
These little packets of bubble bath powders, each a different pastel shade
Stay-Free Mini Pads, lol
Cutex nail polishes
Jergens lotion (for some reason I thought the bottles were pretty)
Coppertone suntan lotion (that ALWAYS signaled "summertime"!)

@Mz iMac I'll keep an eye out, though I'm not optimistic in my region at this point.
@SilleeMee That's too high a price for me for that shampoo! I guess I'll have to do without.
I still have a tube of that Love's cheek gel from probably my junior high days. I never threw it out and just keep it with my make-up for nostalgia. I'd be afraid to open it now in case some decades-old bacteria would emerge or something!
One oldie but goodie that's still on the market is Clinique's black honey lip gloss. I keep that in my make-up bag all the time, though I rarely use it. I had to get it for old time's sake. I had a friend who was the big glamour girl of high school who used the pots of gloss in the lighter shades. All the girls were jealous of her and hated her. The pots came in the black honey, which I used, but she liked the lighter colors that don't look good on me. I don't think they have the pots anymore, but they do sell the black honey in a metal tube. I can't say whether they have other colors from the '70s lip glosses, but they might.
