It's not a shampoo and I haven't tried it, but Nick Chavez has a product called Color Saver Color Gloss Sealer that's specifically designed to prevent the color fading from hair. It's at his website nickchavezbeverlyhills.com

EDIT: Sorry if the link doesn't work. You can just type in the website on whatever search engine you use.

No, I've tried several Wen formulas. They didn't fade my color, but I didn't like it in other ways for instance it took too much time and water in the shower.

Not a WEN user, but I do wonder about one thing - we have several relative families in California, and when they come to visit they are amazed at how we use water so liberally.

They are strictly managed on their water use and a couple of them have mentioned that they are fined if they overuse their "quota". My question is how can people in these areas use WEN when it requires so much water in the shower. Not a problem for me, obviously, but just a general question about the use of this product with water rationing.

I stayed in LA a few years ago. What I knew, as far as water rationing is in regards to lawns and car and window washing. After that, it is a personal decision about "community" (for lack of a better word). For example, turning off the water when brushing your teeth, using water saving shower heads, ...Maybe, things have changed.

I have noticed that using WEN does take a lot more time. What I do is turn the water down - using my water saving head and then dial it back up when I'm ready to rinse. Just habits that I've adopted "to be more globally responsible".{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

OP, I don't color my hair but, I've heard in addition to what ever shampoo/cleanser/conditioner the next most important thing is to use cool/cold water for the entire process.

Aveda has a color shampoo according to the color of your hair and a condition that has temporary color in it (washes out next shampoo) -- very nice. Redken has excellent products.

Two that work great for me are: Suave Moroccan Infusion Color Care Shampoo (and matching conditioner) and Redken Color Extend Shampoo (and matching conditioner). I exercise daily, so I wash my hair daily. Both the Suave and Redken poos and conditioners protect my hair color and keep my hair really healthy, shiny, and moisturized.

I also installed an inexpensive ($20) water filter on my showerhead, which helps to filter out chlorine and other chemicals in water that tend to strip hair of color faster and can cause dry skin.

AVEDA! I have color-treated hair and use their "SHAMPURE" shampoo and conditioner. It does not fade my color, gives great body and shine. It is wonderful and the smell is amazing! They also have their "COLOR CONSERVE" line which is good. They also carry color enhancing shampoos and conditioners depending on your color:

CLOVE - enriches brunette and honey blonde

BLUE MALVA - enhances grey and blonde

MADDER ROOT- enriches red and auburn

CAMOMILE - brightens blonde

BLACK MALVA- enhances black and dark brown

All their shampoos and conditioners are very gentle as well. Can you tell I love this brand.....LOL! Hope that helps!
