Re: Scents and Common Sense May Thread bring on the sun!

Hi Doglover, Janet, everyone. The sky is pitch dark, cable pixelated for a moment and the lights have flashed. it did drizzle here but looks like a huge storm about to hit.

We had put up a little bird-feeder probably 5 or 6 yrs ago, mostly because it was cute. Nothing ever went into it. DH says for the last few days a small black and white bird has been going in and out. I haven't seen it yet. No sign of the rabbit. DH said he hasn't seen any at all, but I saw one a few blocks from here on our slightly wet walk.

I would do something re: IPO, but he is a little threatening. He chats and everything but no one knows a thing about him. He does seem to know more than i like about my family and the neighbors though. I don't know how or if he has a job since he is walking the neighborhood day and night with the dogs. He doesn't have a car, I know that much. He told me something pretty creepy that he would do if the landlord tried to evict him for having 2 large dogs, which is against the rules. He also doesn't have a tag to use the dog-park and has out-run animal patrol. Just a very suspicious guy.

Doglover, glad your fence will be in soon.

Glad most of the scents you got were nice.

Janet, leaving your summer clothes seems like a good idea. I always overpack so I'm no help.

CB will leave Sunday and starts his internship the next day! How he is going to get this done is beyond me. However, I have to squelch my hover-mom tendencies (who am I kidding, I'm a helicopter mom) and let him do it. Car is okay so far but he has only taken it for a few short rides.

Hope you get to see your GD on TV. I am sure they will tape it and get it to you if you miss it.

Not much on tonight.

Desi, DS brought home 3 Days to Kill with Kevin Costner which was pretty good and the other one we will watch tonight, Legend of Hercules. Last week he got I Frankenstein which wasn't bad. I liked all the Sherlock Holmes one with Robert Downey Jr as well as his Iron Man movies, also like the Capt. America and Thor, weird huh but they weren't bad so will see how the Legend of Hercules is. For $2 though we can't go wrong it one or so is a bummer, didn't pay $10 to go and see it in the movie.

Glad the rabbit is okay, haven't seen my small grey tiger in 2 days now so am worrying about him/her. Can say that again, we are definitely second best that's for sure.

I forgot, I too liked Calyx but not enough to order the full size.

All I wear in summer are the 3 pair of Orthaheel sandals I got last summer so am hoping these are as comfy for me. They work the opposite for me, make my back and knees feel a lot better and what I wore when we walked the boards every time last summer without my feet or knees hurting.

pepesmom, I like the PSS version of Lovely as well, have it here right now. I do prefer a floral scent but has to be a light floral and mixed with either a soft musk or a soft vanilla added, works the best for me.

makeup, next door babysits(doggysits) for their daughters really big dog and when he comes our little one runs out barking than the others follow. They love to run the fence together.

Irishrose, I got mostly soft floral from PSS and I get all of mine in her 4 ounce room/linen/body sprays and get 2 extra shots of scent added. This makes them not as strong as the EDP but with the 2 extra shots of scent added they are super nice. I like that these work so well not only on me and my hair and clothes but also around the house and to freshen up furniture and bedding but I LOVE them as my body scent. When you find a scent you like try it in a 2 ounce room/linen/body spray with 2 extra shots of scent added, works perfect for me as well as for others I have told. While Vanilla Orchid does have a some floral in it it isn't what you would call a floral scent, give it a try in a mister, is a favorite of a lot here and great for summer. I can't tell you how many times I have ordered a set of 12 misters, think over time I got almost all her scents other than plain foody ones that don't work on me.

Doglover, thanks for that idea. Sounds good. I've never been a big lover of EDP. Especially in the summer, I love spritzing on a light scent out of the shower. I do love a nice linen spray. How nice to blend the 2!!!! Smiley Happy

Irishrose, if you like your scents very light you might not need the additional shots of scent. You'll have to order to see because the misters are cologne strength.

Not sure what you mean by adding 2, but you reminded me, I think Paulette will combine 2 scents if you find a killer combo.

Re: Scents and Common Sense May Thread bring on the sun!

Irish, once you find a scent you like, get it in the 4 ounce room/linen/body spray and if it is a lighter scent have 2 extra shots of scent added, stronger scents don't need any extra or if you like them lighter. No, didn't mean to combine 2 scents but to have her add 2 extra shots of that scent that you ordered, 2 extra shots to make it a bit stronger and will last longer but is still the same scent.

Speaking of scents, am really liking the ones I got from Bathed & Infused. I got them in the 4 ounce body spray and none would have needed anything added, all almost like PSS regular spray scents. I really like the #5 Chanel, Narcisco Rodriquiz, Cashmere Mist, These are the lightest of them with CM being the lightest. I also got Vera Wang which is a floral but has sort of a spicy note to it but after dry down is also nice. Child and Kai are very similar, both a crisp clean floral and boy do both last but one is a bit sharper than the other, forget which one though. For a nice soft scent I do like NR than #5 which lasts a bit longer than NR. VW is a bit stronger in the floral dept but with a spicy(not strong spicy) note. I was surprised though how strong these were for just body sprays, just like the PSS regular sprays before her EDP versions and much stronger than PSS room/linen/body sprays.

Desi, boy time went fast with DS leaving already, wasn't home very long. Keeping fingers crossed the car is and stays okay. Doesn't sound nice the way that guy talks at all, sounds threatening, would keep my distance I think.

Janet, same here when we went to visit relatives by car, kept everything on a hanger and just laid the stuff in the truck as is but it wasn't for a long period of time, 2 days usually 3 tops so we didn't need very much at all of course unlike you and DH that go for the whole summer.

No, didn't get much planted yet because the fence has to go in first before I can do anything on that side but did get stuff planted in pots for the rest of the yard and will finish that part up before going to bed this morning.

oh, got my vionic orthaheel TSV, fit great, got light blue and ordered down a size, fit is good, high defined arch, more so than in the other style I got so wearing them around the house a few days to make sure I keep liking them, so far so good though.

Re: Scents and Common Sense May Thread bring on the sun!

Desi -- We have Dish Network and whenever it rains hard the TV picture starts breaking up then we lose the picture for a while but it usually goes back on by itself; sometimes I have to reset it.

Hate to say this but we're having another beautiful day -- breezy and cool when out of the sun. Should be nice tomorrow then calling for thunderstorms each day next week.

Hope CB has good luck starting his Internship -- I like how you said you are a "helicopter mom" -- can't help it though; I guess we all worry.

I'm sure I"ll see DGD's TV appearance one way or the other -- DD who lives here will tape it so I'll get to watch it one way or the other.

Tomorrow is June 1st -- A NEW THREAD! -- May went so fast and hope the whole summer doesn't follow suit.

doglover -- Glad you like the fragrances from Bathed and Infused -- you said they are similar to PSS dupes. Enjoy them!

Glad you like your Vionic orthoheel sandals -- best to wear them around the house to see if they are comfortable.

Yes, it makes sense to wait until the fence is installed to plant flowers. I worked a little in my perennial garden pulling out the high grass that likes to overtake it -- it seems to grow all of a sudden but then we had lots of rain.

It's so much easier leaving clothes on the hangers than try to pack them in a suitcase which would take up lots of room. I did bring by Keurig down here too and was surprised that I was able to repack it in the box it came it.

Have a nice day everyone!

Re: Scents and Common Sense May Thread bring on the sun!

Janet, nice day here too for a change. It is a bit breezy but at least the sun it out and it is in the 70's, much nicer than only 60 although I will take that over the teens or even the 80's or 90's which I can't stand at all.

I have been wearing my new sandals since I got them yesterday, comfy and will order another color next week for sure.

I just can't wait now to hear from the fence guy and am hoping it will be installed next week at the latest, gave our deposit the very beginning of March . I am not concerned about the section of awning we are having added since that is only in the middle section of the patio and not where we sit so, ends both front and side(back is at the house) are well protected from the rain. We do have a roof over the patio but the awnings really help to keep the sun out as well as the rain when it is windy. We had left the middle section open since that is where our picnic table is, middle of the patio with our seating areas on each end so, picnic table is in the middle of our 2 seating areas but isn't as protected from the sun or rains when it is windy but will be once that section of awning goes up.

Desi, can't believe it is June already, midnight, hope the summer doesn't fly past but also hope we don't have a hot/humid/dry summer.

talk later, have a pot roast on with potatoes, carrots and onions in it and have to go and see what other veggies I want to make with this.

Re: Scents and Common Sense May Thread bring on the sun!

Hi Doglover, Janet, everyone. Lovely today, finally! Sunny and the perfect temps.

Good news, Mr. Rabbit is back! I think he must be deaf or dumb - as in not too bright. DH got stuff to put a cover back on the shed. The linoleum cover he made actually curled up and off during one storm. He was out hammering a new one back and the rabbit was about 6 feet away (outside our fence) happily eating grass! Shouldn't the noise bother him?

There is a bird, I saw him, flying in and out of the bird-house. Not sure if he has a nest or just likes it in there.

It's never long enough to have my sons around. Time did fly with CB. he is trying to pack and isn't sure what he'll need, but with a car I guess he can buy whatever. Won't have time at first, moves in tomorrow, starts the internship Monday.

Can't believe it's almost June either! Hope it's nice, we all deserve it after this non-Spring!

Doglover, the scents you got sound great! You are tempting me with the Orthaheels. I may yet cave - why do I do that? I go through phases when passing up things is easy. Then we have times like now when I want to order up a storm. maybe stress of CB leaving.

I haven't planted anything. I did walk around the house and found poison ivy - pointed it out to DH.

Janet you'll have to let us know when you do see your GD on that show.

Watching shoes.

Anyone order the Emjoi? I have an old one, no longer made, and don't know if I need this one.
