Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

yes and if you notice, musk and vanilla are the first 2 notes to wonderstruck enchanted and these 2 seem to work very well for me. I have no idea what champaca is though but once the dry down is in place it is a nice soft scent that lingers. When I first put it on DH said today, wow, what is that one, is strong. I said it is the one you said you liked yesterday so just wait till it dries down. Later when out to eat I asked him what he thought, good, not like when you first put it on, is nice now. So, have to let it dry down but then I think that is the case with so many. With my ET white diamonds though it seems good from the first spray and stays the same, for me anyway. It is a toss up with these 2 since they are so totally different. The bottle alone is so cute, is round, sort of magical, greyish with tiny star lights and a gold embossed/carved cap with 3 charms hanging from it, really a cute bottle as well(same for both wonderstruck scents). I even like the scented body lotion, use it on my arms, hands and legs but haven't tried the shower gel yet but am sure that will be fine too. I thought for $4 extra, may as well get the body lotion and shower gel.

Janet, I do like the Coty Vanilla Fields as well, is a nice warm comforting scent. Look it up on both Scentiments.com and fragrancenet.com. At either of these you will get a discount and can get a much larger size for much less although in the Coty vanilla fields I think this only comes in the 2 ounce size and after the discount I paid $14 something for it I think?

Desi, would also send them back. If a shoe isn't comfy within the first day back it goes. I wear it around the house a full day and night and if it isn't comfy by the time I go to bed back it goes. I figure a day should be long enough for a break-in period for most shoes and most I get don't need any break-in time, out of the box and good to go is the way I feel a shoe should be with fit and feel.

Pepesmom, didn't get the Philosophy either. Their scents just don't have any staying power for me and there are too many other scents I like a whole lot better. I haven't tried their latest scent though, never got a sniff anyplace yet. The wonderstruck enchanted isn't exactly floral but is floral in it of course. The first two notes are musk and vanilla and think they predominate but is a floral to it as well which I do like, like a nice soft floral scent but have always liked musk. When in school I use to use Jovan Musk most of the time and every once in awhile I would use Coty's Wild Musk but Jovan Musk (regular old one they have had for years) was my favorite.

Desi, did you get the Barkley dog video I sent you, thought of you when I saw the name.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

Doglover, it's nice when the bottles are really cute. I know we shouldn't fall for packaging but I do it too.

You would not believe how much the top of my foot hurts. It seems worse each day now and I haven't put the Barkleys back on! Hurts to lift my toes and bend my foot and every sandal and clog I put on now hurts it. Also woke up with my left eye killing me. So between the 2 I feel hobbled today!

I did get the video, thanks, it's hysterical! I sent it to DH but the link wouldn't work, had to send the title typed out. He of course said I didn't send it right - well, guess what, he couldn't do it either! So he finally saw it too and thought it was cute too.

Wish I had a private porch so much. Especially if you could walk straight out and not have to go downstairs like our old house had.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

I didn't know the bottle was so cute till they came, both the same bottles and are cute.

I hate when I like a shoe, think it is cute but it hurts so much or gives me blisters. Over the years I kept too many I shouldn't have or shouldn't have gotten in the first place. I gave away so many pairs of shoes even I can't believe it. I did give all my heels away since I can't wear them anymore at all, not since I fell and hurt my knee, no more heels, bummer, had some cute ones. Not often but every once in awhile when I first open my eyes or even when in bed yet one of my eyes will hurt really bad, can't open that eye, painful, kept it shut tightly and feels like pins and needles going into it and just plain pain. I was to 2 specialist and they can't seem to find anything wrong. When this happens I can't go out for quite awhile, several hours sometimes but sometimes it goes away in 15 minutes but tears really bad and just hurts really bad.

Some videos are just too cute for words. There is one with a really smart little yorkie. I couldn't believe all this little dog could do. There is also one about a cat that is really very smart, does obstacle courses like the dogs do and so much more, never saw a cat do stuff like this or being this well trained.

Forgot, I wanted to tell you I haven't put anything else on my lips since getting that IT lip/cheek stain stick duos. Boy do I like this duo, like both colors and use them both on my lips and my cheeks as stain. The color lasts a long time on my lips unlike other balms and is very moisturizing, lips feel great. I thought if I didn't like these I would just wear them to bed to moisturize my lips since for $29 I wouldn't sent them back but I do really like both colors so, is another thing I will definitely reorder, best product for my lips yet.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

Hi -- We're having another beautiful day -- very warm and breezy. We went to Panera Bread for lunch today with DD and DSIL. Had soup and half a sandwich and DH had soup and small tortellini with alfredo sauce which he mixed together!

Desi -- Nothing worse than having your feet hurt -- those torture sandals really did a number on your feet and so glad you returned them. Sorry about your eye and hope it's getting better.

Cleaned out our car -- want to have it washed tomorrow and the inside cleaned. So much salt and still have pine needles from last year at the cottage. I know I could vacuum but easier for them to do it.

doglover -- So glad you love the second Wonderstruck; nice when it comes in a cute bottle -- what a reasonable price for the shower gel and lotion. I like shower gel and lotion better than a spray fragrance. Walmart had Taylor Swift fragrances advertised in today's paper saying it was a new item for them.

Glad you like the It stain sticks -- I read the reviews and seems most were happy with them.

pepes mom -- You are so right about the Philosophy TSV -- too expensive after adding the S&H and tax. PSS is much cheaper and most of her fragrances are spot on. Really like the IG and UL dupes.

I'll let you know if I manage to get a sharpener for chubby liners. I think the Ulta sharpener would be the best because it fits all Ulta products.

Take care and have a nice day everyone!

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

Hi Doglover and Janet.

Doglover, I have an idea about your eye, will email later. Doglover and Janet, my eye feels much better, TG, thanks for worrying about me, you two! The foot isn't worse but not a whole lot better. However, between that and the eye, I prefer the eye to be better.

Doglover, I (drat, italics) know what you mean about returning shoes. I have some I don't even recall getting!

Janet, the car wash places do a great job, I should take my (actually DH's car) in. Will wait for rain, but that doesn't help the insides.

Interesting, I have gone to 2 Walgreen's and neither had fragrances to test. Don't get why.

Doglover, glad you love the stain sticks. I haven't worn even my beloved Halo since getting the IT CC. I thought it was too shiny without powder on top. Found if I lightly blot the T-zone a couple minutes after applying, it's fine the way it is. Will see if that's enough when it gets really warm out.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

After many years of not wearing fragrance, I bought Jo Malone's Orange Blossom. The last perfume I used was Jessica McClintock. I'm really in love with the Orange Blossom. Thanks to Maddiecat for mentioning it. I had no idea who Jo Malone was. I had to go to a mall I don't normally go to to find it. It hasn't caused a rash where I place it (on my wrist) like I used to get. My skin is so sensitive. I sometimes have trouble wearing deodorant as well.

Hi My3fatcats! Thanks for the review, I've heard great things about that line as well. I'd have to go to the mall to sniff, don't think Ulta carries it. I know what you mean about skin sensitivities. Amazing Grace used to irritate my neck, but most women's scents don't. Deodorants I also find challenging. Not sure why some make you itchy or irritated but they do.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

Hi all. I've been MIA for 2 reasons: pain and taxes. Yet again, DH waited til the last minute to gather things up. Looks like I have to do Turbo Tax this year, despite me telling DH to make an appt with a tax prep service.

I ordered a few things from a FB fundraiser called Stephanie's House. Stephanie is a 28 year old with Autism. Her mom wanted to get a house for a few women with Autism to call home. They do 2 FB auctions per year. There was some philosophy, L. Geller, WEN things up for auction. If you do FB, you can like Stephanie's House. Then there is a link to the auction. You have to like that too. If you see something that trips your trigger, you comment "I want it" or something to that effect in the comments section, if no one has bid on it. Prices are good.

Too warm out today- felt humid. Yesterday was great. Tuesday we may get snow! Darn that Mother Nature.

Bella got a bath this evening. She was not amused- was fine until the water. Then she started making sounds like a Wookie from Star Wars. She's adorable.

Pepe didn't get a bath. He's had a hard week. Had some GI distress- runs. I think it was from Prilosec. We stopped that and his pain meds and gave him some yogurt. I'll email Doc Awesome tomorrow to update him. As usual, Pepe is a total trooper through it all. Still his happy, kissy self.

I have PT tomorrow late morning.

doglover: I have no idea what could be making your eye act funny. Hope Desi was able to email you with a thought.

Janet: The inside of my car looks like its never been cleaned. DH did the outside yesterday. Inside needs mats hosed off, mud wiped out, etc. Just think, once yours is done- it will be like having a new car to take to the cottage. I'm envious of you going to Panera. I love that place. In Feb. I had a BBQ chicken salad and it was awesome. Its not currently on the menu. Hope it comes back for fall/winter.

My3fatcats: Hi and welcome. Happy you like Jo Malone's fragrance. I have no clue who she is either. I've heard good things about her scents.

Desi: My neighbor has come up with a few great lines over the years. One is "life is too short to wear uncomfortable shoes". Sorry your foot still hurts. That stinks. Have you ever tried Arnica? Makeup always says it is great for bruises. I know you cant see a bruise, but you indeed are bruised. I know they sell it at WalMart near the BenGay.

Re: Scents and Common Sense April Thread - Welcome!

Hi Pepe's mom, was thinking of you and your neck today. Hope it is feeling at least a bit better.

MY DH is pretty a-na-l about getting things done on time. The boys, not so much, last minute in everything. Any bill, taxes, homework, last minute and down to the wire - or just over it!

Poor Wookie-Bella, at least she is clean for now. Sorry Pepe is having gastro issues, that's never fun for them or you. I bet Doc. Awesome will have some good ideas.

The foot is probably bruised, ITA, but it's barely discolored. I hated wearing heavy hunting socks, wide band-aids and clogs in this weather but I did. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm just happy my eye is better. Hope I can wear sandals tomorrow, will be hotter like you had today. Might get some snow-flakes Tuesday here too, we can commiserate!

I looked at arnica I just never bought it.

The FB site looked like a very worth-while place to purchase.
