Hey, everyone. I am still hanging in there with simplicity!

This week started off slowly, but ended with me making lots of progress!

Yesterday, I decluttered four or five bags of books. Also, I threw away plenty of trash/paper clutter.

Today I will continue in that same room (spare room) and throw away more papers.

When I get done, I might paint it.

Oh, and I am not even tempted by the Skinn Cosmetics on Shophq, Evine, or whatever it is called now. Smiley Happy

His products are good, but I am working on finding frugal alternatives.

Is anybody finding their projects to be bigger than they thought they'd be? I sure am.

Anniecamp...yes, definitely! This year it is taking me forever to get through this house, it has never taken so long before, this is something I do every year, so its not like there is so much to get through. So, in my case, it has to be me that has slowed down.

Oh yes, Anniecamp! I'm paying the price for one too many trips up and down steps carrying stuff...did something to my knee, keep getting a painful clicking when I straighten it out. Then I screwed up my back from walking "funny" favoring the knee. I told DH he's on his own getting the painting in the hallway and living room done this week.....I'm doing stretches, and using my TENS unit on my back til things get better! I need to remind myself I'm not a spring chicken anymore.

It's -7 outside right now, and supposed to hit -15 at some point tonight (and I'm sure the wind chill will be much worse). Stay safe and warm, and have a great week!

Yes Anniecamp!

What I thought would be a couple months is going to be longer, I can't work on projects all the time as daily chores need to get done & it is so cold here I am not going in the closed off rooms, just not in the mood to open them up or bring in a heater....this weather has been a drag

and some projects I did I need to go back & give a thorough cleaning to or re-org better

Minimal decluttering going on here. Mostly I'm just exchanging stuff. I've been going thru my closet and trying on some items, setting some aside to donate but I'm finding that I don't have a lot left to wear. So I've been hitting my local thrift stores to replenish my wardrobe. I've changed sizes over the last several years so a lot of my stuff is too small. I've been saving it because my weight goes up and down so much, I figured I'd wear it again, but in the meanwhile, I keep wearing the same things over and over again because a lot of it is just too small. At least I'm not spending a lot of money on the replacements, I got some good brand name items at the thrift store cheap.

Same with my kids, my older son is outgrowing everything and the nicer stuff I'm saving for my younger son, but he needs new clothes too. I do have a couple of small bags set aside to donate and some items to take to consignment and I've gotten rid of a few items here and there, so I'm making a little big of progress. I guess as long as the old goes out while the new comes in, at least I'm not adding to the problem.

I can do a monthly thread--it doesn't matter to me.

And you're right about the weather--I didn't go anywhere yesterday except to walk the dogs around the block and shovel my driveway. And there was nothing on the shopping channels that particularly interested me.

I'm ok with monthly thread, too.

As for the weather - I normally like/love winter. Not so much these days.

The worst thing about the cabin fever this weather causes for me is that I binge watched a great series on Netflix; I was hoping to make that last for a while as I know it takes them forever to post new seasons. I finished the last episode Sunday night and now I feel cheated LOL.

Hey Jolexi: What was the Netflix series you watched?

Seaswirl... the series I watched was ""Velvet"". It's based in Madrid during the 50's. Very Mad Men-ish.

I appreciate hearing from others who have found their projects to be bigger/harder than they thought they would be. I've noticed, in the last couple of years, such a big difference in what I can/can't do as fast or well as I did only 12 months ago. It is said that "misery loves company", but that's not what I mean. To me, it's support, that it seems to be a part of life now, and I just need to keep plugging away at things.{#emotions_dlg.sad}

I find "a little bit at a time" is what's working for me now ~ I'd like to get up to the attic as there's plenty to carry down and donate, but just too cold right now.

The approach of going back to "re-evaluate" items is also something I'm doing. I don't want to be too hasty and have regrets, so I find this a safe method.

Splurge at Rite-Aid today ~ $1.99 Wet n Wild nail polish ~ "Wet Cement". You can return make-up/nail polish etc. with receipt if it's not to your liking! Because of that I felt I was safe, BTW love the polish, so won't be returning! Kiss
