alicedee: please send DH here when your projects are complete. I have a few projects around my house for him, LOL!

LOL---queendiva, if you lived nearby, I'm sure he'd be happy to help you out...he's a very good guy. Today we drove over to his Mom's (she lives about an hour from us), and he shoveled for her and cleaned the blades on all the ceiling fans in her house. He really is a good person...much nicer than me, but he gives me an example to aspire to!

{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}, alidedee, I seriously need to get in line for you and DH coming by my house for a couple days, {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}.

I am getting things done, I am just SO slow, lol.

Snickster, I wish we could all get together...we'd probably make good progress! Actually, it would probably be easier for me to help organize and simplify at someone else's home, as I wouldn't be so emotionally invested in the things! This thread is a really big help to me....I'm surprised as I work on reducing the clutter and organizing better how often I think about the thread and all the effort everyone is making. It has definitely helped me not to mindlessly spend at the store, too!!!

alicedee....YES, that would be ideal wouldn't it? 2 or 3 of us getting together, moving from one area of the country to the next helping out with the declutter, clean up/simplify process. Oh, wait...I think there are companies out there who do this, but that would not be as much fun as we could have.

I actually did finish all the drawers, including the built in, in my closet, all that is left are the hanging clothes. That is where I am heading today. Wish me luck, I seem to become so indecisive in this one area of my process. I don't have that problem in any other area of my home. There is a lot of money hanging there and I don't want to make a mistake, is my guess as to why I procrastinate when it comes to my closet.

Snickster.....congratulations on completing the drawers! Just tackle the hanging clothes at your own rate. When DH did his closet, his style was to take everything out and had me watch him try every single item on and say keep or toss. I couldn't do that (sorry, but trying on clothes that may be too small in front of DH is NOT my style lol!!). I just did it in "bits and pieces." Even if you only go through 2-3 pieces a day and make a decision to keep or toss...eventually you'll have worked through all the clothes. Fortunately, we aren't on any time schedule, and you can do this in a way that works best for you. The key is...moving forward, you don't have to go fast!

Happy Friday. We may have sleet this afternoon, which is a bummer for anyone out in the weather. Hope everyone stays safe and warm.

Enjoy reading about your projects and progress. I'm off work today. It's a good day to put up our 'Winter City' lighted village. Christmas décor comes down before New Year's Day at my house but we leave Winter City up until March 1st. My grandson named the city and he's the mayor of Winter City. He keeps moving the peoples, animals and trees around when he visits. He takes his duties seriously! I'm confident he'll get re-elected.

Running the washer/dryer while I watch last week's recorded TV shows. Have a restful but productive weekend.

Oh, I'll share that I purchased a Mark Fisher handbag for summer - light gray. Since donating handbags I'll no longer carry, I'm putting serious thought into each purchase/replacement. No more impulse purchases so my collection of handbags won't be as large.

Good Afternoon all,

Had a very busy and trying morning today, but every single bag, box, and piece that I had set aside last month for today's pick-up from SA is now gone. My living room looked like a warehouse, but it is now clear and free of clutter. A cable tech also came in and changed out my boxes as part of my updating and reconfiguring my service package, and I'm very happy with that as well. I have my space back!

I was originally going to go out to the laundromat to tackle the laundry, but there is not much to be done as we've all been diligently keeping the clothes hamper clear, and plus - it is impossibly cold out; I decided just to stay in, and tackle doing a few things at home. We ran out of our favorite coffee creamer (French Vanilla) this morning, and instead of going out and buying some, I searched my pantry and found a can of sweetened condensed milk, which I mixed with some milk and vanilla extract. I reused the creamer container that just finished, so I just saved myself a trip and a few dollars. It also tastes just as good, if not better. I also have a box of pudding mix I pulled out of the pantry; I'm going to put it to use tonight as a filling for dessert. Tonight, as I'm preparing some dinner, I'll make some pate et choux for profiteroles and fill them with the pudding. I'm trying to use everything I have.

I do hope those of you who are dealing with these subzero temps are safe, keeping warm and out of the cold. Have a great weekend everyone!

Woo-Hoo, I did a session with my closet and took a BIG stack down to my guest room, which is the staging area for all my donations. Lots of work suit jackets, etc. so I cleared out some room, still have more to do, but...baby steps, since this is so hard for me to declutter the closet...crazy I know.

Then I worked on the family cook books I am making for my 2 DD's. Got quite a few done but a big stack yet to type up (I am also putting pics on each page to personalize them), so it does take some time.

Stay warm everyone, this cold spell needs to end, like now.

Continuing to work on decluttering ~

Spent some time getting rid of some more papers I came across, thought I had completed that task! Today I have been listing some items on Craigslist, hoping to clean out a few larger items.

On my list for the upcoming week is a RE-Look at my shoes ~ pretty sure I can part with more. It's been about a week since I've dropped off anything at SA, so I'd like to work on gathering some goodies to donate.

Hoping everyone has a productive weekend!

Hi ladies, Happy Sunday. Hope everyone is surviving these frigid temps, we are at 15 degrees here so it's better than the last few days, but dropping off again for the upcoming week.

Yesterday I just did a minimum of cleaning, cooking and spent some more time on my cookbook project (this one is time consuming, but enjoyable).

Today's plan is to start prep work for painting the kitchen-lots to do there.

Not sure what the plan is, weekly threads or monthly, but I'll find whichever it is going to be, I do enjoy reading everyone's success's, and solutions to problems/issues we all have.
