@Funloving Thanks for your encouraging post!
Please do check out Bare Minerals' Fly High - you might like that.
@151949 As I posted in my first post, I didn't pay $50 either - I had a 20% off coupon. And nobody is making you buy anything. Stick to the cheaper lippies if that's your comfort zone. I thought this one was unusual enough and complimentary enough and useful enough to try it for the price. I don't like to look like everyone else walking around town. And if it's not to my liking, I have 60 days to return it. IMO a win-win for me.

I own Bare Minerals "Fly High" and enjoy it very much.
It's fun to indulge every now and then. I find a lavender tone in lipstick to be very flattering- but that too varies by individual. I do hope it works and you love it!!

@Funloving Wow you have good taste in lipsticks! Have you tried the Fly H. underneath the Cake? I keep thinking that would work well but haven't yet tried it.

@Pearlee- Since I don't own the LQ lippie, but the MAC shade with lavender which reminds me a lot of it looks good over Fly High, you should give it a whirl!

Here's the only pic of Viva Glam Niki 2 I could find. It looks slightly different in person. I top almost every lipstick with it- just love it.

I'm sorry that my earlier post was confusing. What I meant was I have a very similar shade in Mac Viva Glam Nicki II, comparing it with LQ's Let Them Eat Cake. In person they may not be that much alike at all since Nicki II is most definitely a satin with no reflective properties and truly a cool tone. The Mac lipstick photo is above ^^^^ lol.
I so wish they wouldn't make their hottest shades as limited editions-- strictly for selfish reasons. Although.. 100% of the proceeds on many of these LE 's goes directly to HIV/Aids patients and their families. That part makes me feel good since I bought 3 of them. I wish I'd bought 6 since I use constantly.
Let Them Eat Cake looks beautiful. I'd buy one in a heartbeat if I could get it for a more reasonable price. I still stand by words; having a little splurge on no matter what you want is your business & has its merits for you, which is all that counts. There will always be a few insulting and intrusive posters who are all over how you spend your own money. A lot of us who used Perricone received the same angry tongue wagging.
Again, sorry to confuse. Please keep in touch on how your lipstick is working for you. I for one am very interested due to its complex nature you talked about.

I am now on my second tube of this color, Let Them Eat Cake. I agree it looks very pretty on the models. But I am very pale and this shade barely shows on my pale lips. I have to use a nice nude pink under it for the color to show at all

Thanks. That's beautiful, now I want one. It looked great on the model, plus she had a SheepDog. I love them. We lost ours after 13 years. Sorry talk about off topic.

I love most of Lipstick Queens colors, but I don't know about this one. I would have to go into ULTA and check it out. Although, I did use the 20% coupon on 3 lipsticks last week. One was Lipstick Queen Medeival, Tartes' Poppy and Mally's grape something. That one was for my daughter. I've been buying lipsticks this past month like a crazy woman. Picked up the Givenchy black shade with gloss. That's a good one to wear over other lipsticks. Plus one from Too Faced and 3 from SCA. I need to put the breaks on now.

@Leeny Hi there. I also bought a few other lipsticks at Ulta last week with my coupon, including another funky one by LQ All That Jazz Hot Piano. It's pretty wild! So far I like it but it's not an everyday lipstick; rather one for funky occaions or funky outfits IMO. Fun though. Poppy makes fun lipsticks!
I once got Medieval as a gift - it's a very useful, all-purpose color. I hope you enjoy yours - it's flattering on me.
@Funloving Thanks for clarifying. I will keep you posted. I haven't even worn my LTEC yet!
