I think that would be part of the "commercial " prohibitions including goods or services plus the posters would have to post some kind of what the Q calls personally identifiable info to do a trade......I do know Webbie has POOFED offers to trade many many times (including the OPs first poofed thread that offered a TRADE not a sale) so they established a precedent......

That is a shame. You would think it would be encouraged because it breeds good faith among the WEN community and ultimately more sales? Perhaps Chaz can provide one of his social media sites for this (allowing people to get in touch) - or for those (like me) opting out of social media, a blog? It would have to come with a disclaimer, of course, that he is not responsible for any negative experiences resulting from these exchanges.

For what it's worth, as a lawyer, QVC's standards are not clear and I believe leave room for this. But they have clearly interpreted matters to prohibit this - probably worried about liability - because we know how litigious people can be. Wink

I can understand QVC's trepidation even about trades. But I've seen people exchange e-mails. Wink-wink.

Hi, Crisso! I have to agree with jessa on this one. Every thread I've seen with offers of trade have been removed, and some posters have been banned for those things and for posting email addresses, etc. For me, it's not worth losing my account to do these things. (eta: I've never understood the thinking behind agreeing to terms on a forum and then trying to circumvent them.)

I think another part of the standards for participation also supports their removal of offers to sell or trade: "Do not post web addresses (URLs) for, or links to, outside sites that violate these guidelines."

If we post a link to a Facebook page, or its identifying name, (as an example) to promote commercial endeavors that are prohibited by the standards... then we're violating those policies to which we agreed when we registered.

I agree the standards are unclear. I've posted previously that I feel they're old and need to be updated, but I don't see that happening any time soon. As our ubiquitous saying goes, it's their community forum so they can do what they want without explaining anything.

I know, but such a shame. It might eliminate returns.
