I also received my TSV, but I want to use it at least for a week before I post a review.    Sometimes I love a product (or don't like it) the first week and end up changing my mind later.  I do have initial comments about the cc matte and they are: 1) the fair tone is not fairest of the fair as they describe it.  I am usually the lightest or second lightest tone of foundations (110 in Fenty for example) and this fair color is a bit dark.  I am hoping for a porcelain tone in the future.  2). The CC matte is a misnomer, I would say is more of a semi matte finish.   Kat Von D and Fenty are a lot more matte than the cc matte.  This is actually a good thing because it makes the product suitable for most or all skin types.  3). I did not find this product to be full coverage as the claims, more of a medium but buildable coverage, which is what I prefer because I can go for a more natural look with one application or a more polished look with an additional application.  As far as the wear, the finish on my drier skin, etc.  I will post as soon as I use it for a little while.  Hopefully, this helps somebody who is considering this product.

@glam_girl @MommyAngie @ecinreb @tsavorite & all:

Long-time fan of IT. Currently use the veil (weekends) and Confidence in a Compact, both in FAIR. Match my skin well.

For the TSV I ordered both the FAIR and the FAIR-LIGHT. My skin does have cool undertones and fair-light was described as adding a bit of pink.

Today I tried on the TSV in Fair-Light. Yee gads, it's DARK! Noticebably darker than my usual fair. Sending back. Tomorrow I will try the TSV in FAIR. Hoping.

Otherwise, it did not make my skin look dryer, though I use a serum and moisturizer first.

@JeanLouiseFinch Thank you for replying.  That was my thought too, that there were only so many for presale.

In this heat, my regular CC cream seems a bit to much moisture for my combo skin so after watching the video thought it would be something to try by mixing the two.  Hope it works out since I really like the regular CC cream, just wish it was a little less "wet".

Wow, @grandma_2_2, it looks like we were both wrong.  I tuned in last night and it was sold out.  A couple others sold out nearly immediately too.  I think QVC and IT really messed up on this one.  JMO  While I suspect it's going to be too dark/yellow for me, I went ahead and ordered the medium so I could get the deal, but I fully expect that I'll end up exchanging it.

ETA - I received my kit yesterday.  I tried it this morning and, as expected, it's much too yellow for me.  I've often seen once a TSV is over the shade options return, but not in this case.  The A/D's are shown as sold out.  Aside from the wrong color for my skin, the finish isn't terribly flattering anyway so I don't think, at this point, that I would have liked the light-medium anyway.  My complexion is normal.  I did my regular skincare, including a light moisturizer, and waited a few minutes for that to penetrate before doing the CC cream.  I used 1.5 pumps and the coverage is patchy and even dry in a couple of spots.  Very disappointed in the product and in myself for even ordering it.

One other thing....the hosts and vendors kept saying how forgiving the shades are so if your first choice was sold out the next one would still work.  That is NOT true.  I know I had planned on the exchange from the beginning, but what about those who followed their recommendation and ended up with a shade they can't use?  If you were one of those people and think the second choice is OK in your bathroom or bedroom lighting, make sure you check yourself outside in natural light.  It makes a big difference.

@JeanLouiseFinch  I too purchased this TSV in my select shade, med-tan.  I just wanted to see what the 'matte' version was like even though I'm not one to usually where a full coverage foundation.  I find the finish to be just as they describe, velvet-like sort of like a rose petal.  The shade is spot on for me, but this I already knew having introduced this shade previously in their other complexion products.

One thing I might suggest for you, if and when you choose to even try the other shade, is try to be a little more light handed with this one.  You mentioned you used 1.5 pumps which is ALOT of product.  I only used barely a half a pump which was more than enough, even after buffing off excess.  Just a suggestion if you care to give it another try.

The jury right now is out on this one.  I need to try it a couple of days to see how it wears.

Good Luck!

@fitfuninformed  Thanks for that.  Part of the reason for my needing the 1.5 pumps was because it dried down so quickly in spots that it wouldn't spread so I had to add more product.  I also used a beauty blender, hoping to get it to move.  The result was that it collected in some spots and not in others.  I didn't look good at all.  I looked better yesterday wearing a cheapie drugstore product.  This isn't my first experience with IT.  I have a number of their products that I like just fine.  The foundations have always been a letdown in one way or another.

@JeanLouiseFinch  I wonder what happens to all the returned kits? Is there a way to check that the next one received has not been previously tried out? A seal broken maybe?

@1Professor

Oh noooo Smiley Sad  I just received mine but have not opened it yet. I'm quite fair and they told me to order Fair/Light because it's pink toned, not yellow, but, it was supposed to be fair. .Please post about the Fair shade if you get a chance. I'm going to try my Fair/Light tomorrow.  Thanks.

@MommyAngie: Wore the FAIR today (had to lecture to a group) and it was WONDERFUL! Pale, matched my fair skin. Great texture, looked air-brushed! (I wear a serum and moisturizer underneath, applied thinly.)

Fair is a keeper!

Fair-light looked like something trying to TAN my skin. You know, where you can clearly see the line between the makeup and the neck? Ugh.
