Re: I really dislike the "new" message board format...

I agree.  I am here maybe 1/4 of what I used to, and purchasing a lot less from QVC.  A perfect example is the September Insider.  I see a BE kit that I'm interested in, and would love to chat about a few items in the kit.  However, without a BE subcategory to post under, my thread will become buried in Beauty and won't be easy for me to find in a few days to review the comments.  Therefore, I'm not going to bother posting about the kit, and may or may not buy it.

When I used to get feedback from others on the boards, I inevitably bought the product because it was exciting to talk about it, and loved hearing other people's experience with the products in the kits that I'd never used before.  Oh well.  I suppose I've gotten used to it as much as I ever will, and maybe making purchases based on the experience I'm reading on these boards wasn't the best idea anyhow.  I sure have been shopping at Ulta and Sephora a lot more now, just buying the individual items I need and not the Q kits.  So maybe this is a good thing for me after all!

KateChopin - I'm right there with you! I quite simply cannot stand the new format.

I didn't post at all for the first couple of months, but have recently been forcing myself to start participating again. I used to really enjoy being an active member of this forum. My dissatisfaction with the changes has nothing to do with the increased moderation, but everything to do with the actual features of this (once) easily-navigable board.

Although others on this thread have detailed the various formatting issues, I haven't yet read any that touched upon the jarring amount of "white space" that now dominates the page design. Am I the only one who notices (and struggles with) the overwhelming amount of unbroken white on the new boards? This is just a basic design flaw.

This new board is NOT user-friendly and requires too many clicks to eventually get to where you're going.....that is IF you can find what you're looking for.

Also, I miss the variety of topics.  I always got helpful tips, hints, great recipes, and just enjoyed reading what people were doing and if they had problems, I enjoyed reading solutions or recommendations that other posters provided.

Now all topics on these forums are boring, mundane, not interesting.

Not to mention the Moderators who apparently delete threads because comments were "rude."  Jeez.......

@chi5925, all of this is still here if you look - recipes, beauty, fashion and home tips, wellness. Tips and recommendations abound. You just need to know which forums to look at.

As to your last sentence, I think "rudeness" being banned is about time - no matter how entertaining some might have found it.....

I do believe that posters who are mean and hurtful have no place on these boards, it seems that the boards have turned into a life-is-beautiful-let's-live-on-white-puffy-clouds-and-sing-Kumbaya place.

The moderators seem to discourge any sort of differing of opinion or topics that come within 50 miles of the slightest controversey.

I'm getting used to it, but why doesn't the font size thing pop up all the time? I hate this tiny print. And something else, this board has settled more arguments and discussions in our house . . . we would disagree on anything from the star of a certain movie to a math formula for figuring something and I could come here and get an answer 99% of the time. I don't even know where to start now days.

I feel the same way and my use of this board has gone way down.  Smiley Frustrated

We all can get "used" to anything, but it doesn't mean we will ever like it or that it is good. It's poorly designed and user unfriendly. It appears designed for people who are persistent in usage.

Re: I really dislike the "new" message board format...

I have yet to find anyone that likes this. QVC does not care, nor do they listen. I have tried and tried but rarely come to their website anymore. Right now I am signed in and and it still says, Welcome Guest...thanks

[ Edited ]

I honestly think that was the intent...worked for HSN...

So I just realized that if I reply to someone's post---it doesn't show up under their post...sigh.

I totally agree. I find it hard on my eyes...it really has an uninteresting appearance...and it is more difficult to navigate.

@patheticcosmetics If you go into your settings, you can change the order to "newest first" FYI
