Re: How you do exfoliate?

[ Edited ]

I use St. Ive's Apricot Scrub daily.

In the wintertime, I use the gentle/sensitive version of it.

The past couple of weeks I have added Peter Thomas Roth's Pumpkin Enzyme Mask to my am or pm routine (whenever I can fit it in). I use it 1or 2 times a week. I am loving the way my skin looks. My skin feels softer and the tone is more youthful. (I am 62.)  I had been using Philosphy Face Scrub every other night with a weekly PTR Firm X peel. (BTW-I think the current QVC PTR 3 Mask offer of rose, pumpkin and gold is a very good value.)  I exfoliate more in the winter as I seem to have more spare time than in summer.

I use L'Bri facial peel.  It is very gentle even on sensitive or broken skin and has no granules in it.  A very small amount goes on like a gel and massaging causes the dead skin to roll off.  Amazing.  I can always tell when I've neglected to use it.  I makes a real difference.

Exfoliation is important after age 25 when the skin stops shedding as quickly...I am 47 and I have very dry!!! very "thick" skin...I use both manual (scrub) and chemical (AHA/BHA) exfoliation...everyones skin is different and sensitivities must be taken into account... I usually scrub with Skinn Dermappeal 2 times a week, I use Skinn ABC peel once a week (Saturdays)... I added PC BHA 2% liquid and SSC Liquid Exfoliant ( use one or the other nightly) I mask with Borghese Fango Delicato or Active 2 times a week (or I use Skinn Vacuum mask...both are kaolin based masks)

My routine, for me, is perfect...my skin almost looks like it did in my late 20's (in my 30's my skin never looked this good!) I do have a few wrinkles (crows feet around my eyes but not at rest...I can make them tho!) and my nasial labial folds have deepened recently ( I am trying some facial exercises to help with these!) I hope you find the perfect balance of exfoliation for YOUR skin!

I use Paula's Choice 2% BHA daily every am.  I alternate nights between Retin A and PC BHA 9%.  I do not exfoliate on Sunday night - just cleanse. This routine works for me with minimal flaking.  I do not change my routine with the seasons.  My skin is very oily and acne prone all year round.

Missha super aqua moist peeling lotion. Love it and you can even use it on sensitive skin.
