$85.00 for a haircut?? Wow, that's a lot. I wonder if Nick Chavez gets that much for a haircut 🤨

@Effie54  Probably much more

I have whispy bangs too and cut them myself.  How do you cut yours?  Mine are uneven and choppy.  I twist them, cut off the length and then point cut.

I'm shocked!  You would never know by watching Christopher's videos that he's ever done a bad haircut (g).  I have his book and have probably watched all his videos.  I'm not so much a fan any longer tho.  He started vlogging his personal life and doesn't hold back.  He's a totally different person than the "Makeover Guy".  He's negative, moody, has a chip on his shoulder, sulky.

Yes, as with most things location plays a big part.  My haircut in rural east Texas is $25.  A ribeye steak dinner at Saltgrass...16oz and 12 oz... (with bread, potato and salad) was $80 last night.  That same meal in NYC could be 2x that price.

I never really followed Christopher. I think I was first introduced to him on the Oprah Show. A trip to his salon was a splurge, very zen-like with lots of pampering and my cousin thought she might be getting the best cut in her lifetime. Now granted I did not see his styling technique and maybe she did not possess the skills, but I found her style aging.☹️

It is sad to hear that he became a changed person.

I don't know if he changed (but I think we all do to some extent) or we're just now getting a glimpse of the real person behind the Makeover Guy

I would quit wearing makeup entirely before I would skimp on hair.  If your hair doesn't look good, makeup doesn't help.

I went to have about 5 inches cut off my hair about 6 months ago... it cost with tip about $70. It was nothing special... just a trim of a few inches. my hair is long.

So last week I wanted about two inches cut off that it had grown out since my last hair cut.  I was not going to spend $70 with tip to pay to have two inches cut off... so I did it myself and it looks GREAT. And it was FREE.

@SeaMaiden I take it that you are liking your "shorter" hair.  I have been cutting my own for quite awhile now.  I have long layers so it can be a bit tricky.  Do you cut the length by bringing it around to the front?  Do you end up with straight across in the back or is there a point?  I am not sure if I am explaining myself correctly.  Is your hair all one length......I guess I am asking you, how the heck do you cut your hair?  LOL

@tends2dogs     My last paid haircut that I trimmed a lot off a few months ago was really  to shape up and even out my hair with a GOOD CUT.  I had grown it out for the past 4-5 years to get length, and just tipped the ends every so often to keep the ends healthy. I knew it needed to be trimmed correctly, and did not want my hair so long.

This "trim" I did was just to remove about two inches of growth to get my hair back to the length I wanted... about shoulder  length. No layers in my hair.

Yes, my hair  is the same length so to trim was easy.  I just put a rubber band on my hair in the back, my hair swept   into a pony tail and pulled the rubber band down to the point wear I wanted to trim. Then I brought  the pony tail forward over my shoulder and cut straight across where the rubberband   was marking where to cut!  My hair was trimmed

 I know NOTHING about cutting hair. It just happened to work! LOL!
