$50 is my max when my har was longer.  With this shorter harcut, I generally stay in the $25/$30 range.

There are 5 shops within walking distance. Lowest price is $20 for cut. Highest is $50.   I just get shampoo and cut/style.

I've tried them all and my experience has been that the lower priced shops did the best job.

Most of my friends go to the same shop.  It's a busy shop and she even does "house calls" for some of the older customers.

I can't even imagine that.  Do you literally live downtown amidst commerce?  The only thing I live within walking distance from  is my mailbox.  And with a broken knee, I usually drive to it or let my husband get the mail.

@monicakm   I pull them all up with a comb, hold them steady between my fingers and cut little 90 degree snips along the bottom (sort of like a small zig-zag).  Let them fall down and if still too long, I just give them a little straight trim across the bottom.

Twisting them sounds interesting, I may give that a try next time!

@monicakm So sorry to read in your post that you have a broken knee.  I am not on QVC's forum that much so I must have missed it if you posted about it.  I know you have other health challenges, but are always so upbeat.  I hope it is healing quickly.  Give that dog of yours a smooch!

@tends2dogs  I am fully recovered from my fall on the stairs. Thankyou for asking!

It took about 6 weeks to feel 100% better. I really thought that when I hit the step with my mid back, that I had hurt myself bad....but I was very fortunate to have recovered completely. Back to doing yard work and lifting etc.

I do think taking arnica right after it happened and other herbal natural anti inflammatories orally  as well as using  ice right  away helped immensely....then applying heat...also used herbal rubs for injury and pain topically on the injury area. Used lots of arnica orally and internally.

I learned how to cut my own hair when the pandemic started and even though my salon is open now, I don't go there anymore.

I have thick curly hair that grows very fast.  Not evert stylist can cut and style curly hair so I didn't think price first, I thought the stylist first.  Prior to Covid, I paid $125 for my trim and deep condition.  $40 added if I was gettintip.g a blow out.  20% tip.  I did this every 8 weeks.  Then Covid and hairdressers were closed and when they reopened, my hairdresser didn't open her shop.  I wouldn't have gone anyway.  So, with help from my daughter, I learned how to trim my own hair from YouTube.  I invested in high quality haircare products.  I bought a good hair dryer with a diffuser.  Should I ever want a blow out, I'll go to a hairdresser but I have fallen in love with my curls and I do my own hair.  Same story with my nails.  During lockdown, I did my own manicures and pedicures.  I have my pedicure tub, my tools, my nail polishes.  I'll never pay a manicurist again.  I'm saving a ton of money.

I really don't have a price limit when it comes to my hair. Since I've always worn it in a pixie with it spikey on top. I remember wearing my hair this short way back in the early 80's and would get so many compliments on it. Now everybody has a pixie. I have a gal in our little town that is the owner and stylist. Just her in her shop. $85 for my cut, color and highlight every 6 weeks. $20 tip. I think the price I pay is VERY fair.
