I remember when Philosophy was a niche brand and difficult to find; only high end department stores carried it. A then boyfriend gave me a set of holiday 3 in Oned and WOW...I HAD to have more.

A few years later, Oprah featured a mix your color/scent holiday lab as one of her Favorite Things for the holidays and the set sold out all over the US in days. I found one at Nordstrom in Tysons Corner, VA and bought my products there going forward.

When QVC started selling the line and offered great deals and sets, I was hooked. I don't know how long it was after Cody bought the company (I didn;t even know it had sold at the time) but a gift set I had purchased didn't smell right...if at all. I called, ordered another, returned the one that had arrived and again, nothing. Something had changed. Some sets would be smell great, some would smell off, some would have no scent. Some said it was QVC selling bad product so I headed over to Nordstrom and their sets were just as bad.

My SA was the one who told me the company had sold and that the complaints were rolling in. From that day, I'll stop and smell but not buy after one to many times of thinking "surely THIS scent/product will be different".

No company is going to admit they changed the product (hello Tova and Trish McEvoy). The CONSUMER is always the one who is wrong. Well, if you stop buying it, MAYBE they'll fix it. As it is now, enough of the stuff sells so why should Cody bother to change it back?

wow that brings back memories! I remember when it was first built! Now it's multiplied into a small village!

I've only ever used samples of the 3 in 1s but the one time I purchased Purity, the ingredient deck read like a toxic waste dump, I immediately returned it!

I never was a Philosophy scent fan, but I have used their facial cleanser and exfoliating wash for years and will continue.

Please be careful with your Purity Made Simple.  That formula too has changed.  Where once it was rather soothing, it now stings and the smell is off, more chemical than natural .  If you read the ingredient list you'll  find many of the chemicals and unnecessary additives Paula warns us about.   I searched for months for a suitable replacement and have settled, for now,  on Peter Thomas Roth Gentle Foaming Cleanser, 4 of 4 stars on Beautypedia. It's almost like being in morning though, especially when the models demonstrate what once was the only sure thing in the "beauty" category.  I can certainly  comiserate with those who feel loss at the change in AG formulation.

Purity is all I use.  Someone posted here awhile back that the Purity had changed.  I purchased it anyway, and as far as I can tell, it's still the same great product.

AGREE COMPLETELY!   I stopped using them several years ago shortly after they were sold.  Noticed a drastic difference in everything.  SAD, but many of these large corporations only care about the end profit and will sacrifice quality and cheapen a great product thinking they'll ride it out or no one will notice. WRONG.

Hi Just Bee!  the Pure Grace spritz is the only scent I wear.  I have a stock pile of the stuff.  I agree....I don't smell it, but it never fails that long after I have used it, someone will say "What are you wearing? It smells so fresh and clean."  I also use Purity Made Simple.  I stopped for a long time, thinking it was too expensive, but went back to it.  It just washes my face so well and doesn't strip the skin.  I buy most of my Philosophy products on their website.  Then have such good sales and most of the time free shipping.
