Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

I really paired down my make up during the pandemic when I was working from home. No more foundation or CC cream or blush.  Haven't worn eye shadow since the 80s. My current routine is...

Philosophy Microdelivery Wash in the shower

Hertigage Glyercin Rose Water Spray

Philosophy Dose of Wisdom Vitamin C serum

Neutragena Hydroboost City Shield Moisturizer with SPF

Loreal Infaliable eyeliner in Brown

Loreal Eye Brow pencil in Brunette

Aquaphor Lip balm

Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

I have loved makeup since I bought my first copy of Seventeen, saw Twiggy's eyes and bought Yardley eye shadow and slicker lip gloss.  But I have accepted that I look better in less makeup in my 70s.

I use a DRMTLGY night cream after washing my face with CeraVe.  I rinse my face in the morning.

i switch between Hourglass and Ilia skin tints.  I use Cheeky or Archival Merit cheek balm.  I just bought the Merit eyebrow gel.  I swipe on a well-blended swipe of bronze, gray or taupe on my lids because that intensifies my eye color.  If I am going out, I do a coat of Merit or ELF tubing mascara.  I wear a sheer rosy or lavender lip color.  Done.

Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

Most days I'm not going anywhere so I'll do my AM skincare and leave it at that.  DH and I walk most days so it makes no sense to get dolled up to work up a sweat.  If we have workers coming here I'll do a five minute face - a little drugstore foundation (Revlon Illuminance) or a quick application of Bare Minerals, RMS blush (cream or powder), mascara and something on my lips (gloss, balm, or tinted oil)

If I go somewhere, even for a quick run to the town grocery store, I put in more effort.

I have never heard anything about this Merit line that you seem to really be enthralled with.  Is this a new thing??

I know that you have been a makeup artist.  Are you still doing that?  If so, I would imagine you would need a lot of products to do this.

I wish I could find a few products that I really, really love and that I feel work for me.  I am constantly switching and buying new things because I am not satisfied.

Well, I don't go much of any place these days, but I always have to have some type of coverage on my face due to the rosacea issues.  It's getting more difficult to cover the broken caps and redness without accentuating the few lines I have in various places.

Mostly I just use Cover Girl Smoothers concealer stick on the places that are not good and apply the compact powder lightly of the same name.  I then use a colored lip balm and that is it.  If I have some occasion that calls for more, I will use a bit of liner and mascara.

Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

@tansy   Twiggy inspired my first pixie haircut. Although I wasn't as tall as her, I definitely was skinny and copied the mini skirt outfits and I had white patent books. Seventeen magazine each month was a must read...makeup clothing, etc.!!!

Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

@AngelPuppy1  MERIT BEAUTY is a reletively new brand...think it started in 2021. Their premise is very few products that make getting ready fast and easy.

Yes, my "makeup business" is still in business  run by an assistant now and one makeup artist. The usual weddings on weekend and some makeovers, too. I go in once or twice a week to check on things and do the re-ordering of products. MERIT sent a PR box awhile ago, I tried it out and I was hooked with the no makeup look that was always my choice anyway.

Check Sephora or their site for an overview.

It is clean beauty and that hit home with me,  too.

Re: EVERY DAY MAKEUP LOOK/PRODUCTS?

@Shanus

I just went on their site and am interested.  When you use the stick which is a combo concealer and makeup in one, what kind of finish does it have?  I don't like a really shiny look to my skin.  I did not see any finishing powder of any kind - maybe I missed it.  If this has sufficient coverage on it's own without a powder, I would be fine with that, but just don't like a really shiny, greasy looking finish.  Thank you, I appreciate your help.
