How incredibly tragic. He was still so young at 65. I've never used his products myself, but they seem to be popular. His publicist apparently didn't want to elaborate on the circumstances surrounding his death but denied that it was from suicide.

Regardless, I wanted to provide a toll-free 24/7 helpline for those who are feeling suicidal:

1-800-273-TALK (8255).

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention may also have a local support group for the "Survivors of Suicide" (friends and family), too:

That is so sad. I wondered what had happened. The yahoo article I read did not say, only that he had passed away. RIP and condolences to his family.

I just read this!! There is a columnist from the Miami Herald that says her source told her that he was suffering from depression and committed suicide. I don't think that has been confirmed. Regardless of how he died, RIP.

there is not one thing in this article or the article published in the Miami Herald that mentions suicide. Why would you post this gossip and where did you get this supposed information from "the source"? Just because they report he was devastated by the mocking of him does not mean we can make that jump to suicide without any facts or coroners report.

I think it is just not nice to post this type of unconfirmed gossip about something this tragic. I saw him on television and he did seem like a very nice man.

I'm done with P.C. Just say what you mean and mean what you say. It's easier.

they allude to it. it's a devastating loss. he seemed to be the most kind man who wore his heart on his sleeve.

He had a show on satellite radio that I often listened to. He was always so funny, upbeat, kind, supportive and generous to all his listeners and callers. He would often recognize any of his patients who called in.

ITA! He was kind to his patients. I posted about his demeanor on Viewpoints a minute ago. When he was on QVC, and when people called in...he'd lean into the camera and truly engage the caller. It showed he CARED! This is sad news. He seemed like the real deal.

Dr. Brandt was a bit of an oddball. See his photo in the book A New Kind of Beauty.

Who cares if he was an "oddball"? I certainly couldn't care less. He seemed like a kind, caring and very intelligent man.

Future..he made 4 or 5 QVC appearances. He was very kind, caring and genuine. He truly appeared to be a decent person who loved his job and helping others.
