Why do I always forget the “No Buy” pledge until I’m inundated with packages, half of which are destined to be returned?
I think from now on, I’m also going to have to pare down and simplify my holiday gifts as well as my own purchases. Much disappointment with orders this year, and so I end up adding to gifts with store purchases. More hassle, more money.
Ho, ho, ho? 🎅🏼 Bah, humbug! 😠

It's funny how we manage to take all the joy out of holidays. The older I get the more I like gifts that can be consumed. Liquor and food, food and liquor. I think tea is a nice gift, but tea drinkers are particular.
I used to shop like crazy and give everyone gifts and cards. I'd spend more on gift wrap than most people spend on gifts. For the most part I enjoyed it but now that I've stopped I don't feel all that holiday stress.
Still send cards though. Hope I'll be able to write before Christmas!

Oooh! Oooh! Just got an email from Walgreens: my order has shipped. My fingers are crossed on the lip balm. I need to find a dependable product that I can stick in a pocket. I really need something with a little color.
ETA:
I ordered the two on the left.

@geezerette LMBO!!! Me too. Just yesterday I was opening yet another package and just thought to myself, not again. Feels like I have just been opening one box after another. lol. Boy, did I slide. So, in the next couple of weeks, I need to focus on what I need and try and tune everything else out. I knew November was going to be hard.
I guess the lesson for me here is Never say, Never again.
At least I will say I didnt succumb to any eyeshadow palettes which is a win for me. Round 1 goes to me. Now I just have to be strong for Round 2 that is coming up.

Yes, I agree about gift gifting. For several years now, we stopped exchanging and it feels so nice and the holidays are relaxing and stress free. The kids in the family are of the age where money does them just fine and I then only have to shop for a handful of people. At first I missed the opening of gifts on Christmas Day but now I dont miss it at all. Sometimes I go out during the hustle and bustle just to walk around a bit and see people with arms full of socks and pajamas and all I can think is thank goodness that is not me anymore.
The holidays for me are basically stress free. I dont do the decorating I once did either. The putting up was fun but the taking down was onerous.
I know @geezerette, bah hum bug. LOL!!!!!!!!!

Now if I could only get into the habit of using hand and body lotions. I've got 'em -- why is it so hard to take a few minutes to use them?
I hope you like your new boots! I'm curious about the ones BH ordered. He really needs a new pair -- he's very hard on his shoes. And I hope my pair doesn't try to kill me.
@just bee hand lotion and lip balm are just two things I cant do without. Body lotion I dont slather on like I use to and now just put it on parts I know are dry especially in the winter.
I hope I like my boots too. I tried them on again yesterday and I like them but I dont love them. They look decent enough and if they keep my feet warm, that is all I care about. Let me know once you get yours what you think. Did you get hiking boots or winter or are they both?

ZAMBERLAN 1996 VIOZ LUX GTX® RR WNS Backpacking Boots
Waxed Red.
Better-half takes hiking boots seriously. And he figured I'd like the little Italian flag on the boot.
I hope they fit. I guess I'll find out today...

My decoration is my ancient wreath on the front door. Understatement. (But I totally encourage and enjoy extravagant displays at Christmas!)
