Well, my emotion-driven purchases are starting to arrive and I'm in big trouble:  I actually LIKE just about all of them!  That hasn't happened in years.  A couple of pairs of shoes don't fit and will be going back, but the majority of what I ordered I really like.

My dilemma is not whether I need the stuff because I knew before I ordered any of it I didn't need another thing.  My problem is deciding whether or not I'll actually use any of it.  I don't really mind keeping it all, but I absolutely do not want another two or three garbage bags full of stuff in my closet that are waiting to be donated because I haven't worn or used any of it.  Right now I can actually see the floor of my master closet (my "holding" area for donations/toss outs) and can walk through it without falling over excess stuff.  I like it that way, and I want to keep it that way.

But I also like all this new stuff sitting on the floor of the other bedroom.  And even if I like it and use it, then what about all the stuff it's replacing that I'm using now?  I'll have to decide whether to keep or toss all of it.  Oh dear, I think I've just done it again.  Sheesh.

Uh, do I detect flogging here?  If you were able to find something worthwhile in that sea of ugly clothing out there, I say hang onto it.

Dosey - Did you enjoy the debate? I forgot it was on but have caught clips of it on tv today.

The FOX Business channel is repeating the debate tonight.  I watched the afternoon debate even though I had to work that night (sleep deprivation is starting to become the norm); I DVR'd the evening debate and had planned to watch it last night, but I had too much homework.  I listened to debate analysis while I typed.  I'll  watch it today.
Congratulations to FNC: 24 million viewers and 6 million for the afternoon debate.  I hope this means that people will be more engaged and more informed in 2016.  One can hope.

What a great idea to mark when I buy something new!  I mark my Wen purchases so I use the oldest first but I never thought to do that with my makeup or skin care!

Thank you for the idea!

That's an old ComPact trick.  I have a Sharpie and I use it on food, laundry detergent -- everything.  It's fascinating to see how long it takes to use something up.  And then you'll discover the things that are used up faster.  Really helps when you have the bad habit of stockpiling.

Hi Everyone!

I miss the little owls.  But, the Cornell Birdcams are nice to watch also when I'm not home watching my feeders there.

Owl withdrawal has been just awful.

I did end up ordering a few new teas last night.  I figure fall will be here before we know it, so I stocked up on a few unusual flavors.  I may regret this.

Eventually I'll try the local tea shops, but that probably won't happen until much later this year.

BExplorer -- let me know, if you end up ordering, which teas you chose.  I had put together a sampler package for a friend who's been drinking Lipton for years and it changed her life.  I am in no way one of those people who posts on the tea forums and ensures my imported water is at the perfect temperature before I allow my leaves to steep.  But I don't drink coffee anymore and I don't frequent Starbucks, so I don't mind paying for a variety of teas.  How many cups of Starbucks versus a pound of tea?  You were smart to look at the weight of your tea.  I hope you order some good ones!

I had planned on placing an order Monday night, but one site didn't have both teas I wanted (and I wouldn't have gotten free shpong, either 😕) so I haven't done anything yet.  I am not looking for anything difficult--just organic green tea and organic chamomile--with free shipping, of course 😄.  Great point about the price of tea versus Starbucks!

When I ordered the sale teas last week I remembered that I'd have to pay close to six bucks for shipping.  I ended up adding a pound bag to the order to get free shipping.  Old habits die hard.

I actually bought something for myself this week and I'm not flogging.  I buy hard candy for my coworkers (I should have married a dentist) and I have to buy it at Walgreens on senior discount day because I'm getting cheap in my old age.  While I was there I noticed a sale price on shampoo and conditioner.  Organix had bonus bottles -- an extra 50% of product in the bottle -- and if I bought one, I'd get the second at half-price.

I almost kept walking because I've tried Organix before with mixed results.  But I have been flaking something fierce and the Aveda clove shampoo and conditioner I've been using for years might just be the culprit.  This cuts me to the quick.

So I've been using this Organix keratin oil stuff and (I really don't want to jinx this) I'm liking my hair.  Two big bottles cost less than ten bucks.  That's under ten bucks for the duo.  (Boy, I am getting cheap.)

It's definitely an oily formula, but so far so good.

Aaaarrrggghhh!  Good news: My teas showed up.  Bad news: I never received an email to alert me that they had been shipped.  They showed up yesterday afternoon and I had no clue they were sitting out there.  Just discovered them because someone came to our door to put an advertisement on our door knob.

More bad news: I just realized that I had a 10% off coupon from my previous shipment and I didn't apply the code to this shipment.  Rzzzzz.

To quote a wise woman I once read about:  "Do I detect flogging here?"

I hate when a food or supplement package ends up sitting outside, especially in severe weather (either cold or hot).  I immediately think the whole thing has spoiled.  It doesn't stop to occur to me that it's been in transit for days exposed to heaven knows what.  Thank goodness for door-to-door solicitors.  (Never thought I'd ever say that.)

As for the 10% coupon, well, stuff happens.  I find that when I'm consumed with consuming, I forget things like this all the time.  Which is a great incentive to not get consumed with consuming in the first place.  However, the glitch in that argument for me is that I also forget this stuff even when I buy things only occasionally.  Sometimes you just can't win.

I actually ordered all the stuff in July but didn't receive it until August, so technically I think I should be allowed to flog, at least at my discretion.

As for any of it being worthwhile, I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder.  I like it (at least for right now, who knows how I'll feel in a week or two), so that's what matters.

I did so far bundle up about half of it for return.  I have two more items that I'm still on the fence about, but I really don't know if I want to keep them until I use them.  That's a tricky proposition because they can't be returned if they're not in reasonable condition.  These are the kind of decisions I hate, not only because I hate making decisions in general, but because I put myself in this situation unnecessarily.

On another rather amusing note, the other day as my husband was inquiring into all the newly arrived packages (caught, drat!), I mentioned that although most (!) would be going back, I did need to find some new walking shoes.  He suggested a perfect place for me to find them.  Where, I asked.  "In your closet!!", he responded.  I think he's secretly been reading the "Compact"!

Wiseguy, eh?

I actually had a dream about shoes last night.  Shoes and art.  Weird.
