Oshare-girl - I agree! Nail polishes last forever! I've only finished one polish. Others always get too old, separate and just lose their appeal for me. I find that I've bought polishes on a whim then after using it a couple times, I realize I don't like the color so the bottle just sits in my collection forever.

I'm doing good with not buying any new lotions/shower gels this month. I did make a purchase of Paula Choice skincare. If I could just resist the urge to use other lines, I really think I could be happy with just Paula's line since my skin likes the majority of her stuff. It's a slow process but I think I'm starting to use up my other skincare lines so I can concentrate more on Paula's stuff.

Hey everyone. I've been busy for a while, and fell off of the compacting wagon. I bought a few GILI leather items (all but one returned), the recent IT Cosmetics TSV, a $44.00 Judith Ripka stack ring, and just today I ordered some whisper knits (my downfall) and the TSV Earthies sandals. Whew! That's a lot. On the flip side, I sold twelve items on eBay that I weeded out of my closet in January, got four more rooms decluttered, and sorted/organized/tossed some color cosmetics. So on balance, I am staying the course with some deviations. I'd really like to get some more items out of the closet. I think I need to get working on that this weekend.

Sounds like you're all doing a great job! If you still feel like more is coming in than going out, focus on the balance. Otherwise, it reads to me that you're all on top of the situation. Seems as if you're moving closer to your goals and the rewards are all around you.

I'm sick with jealousy. {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

You all deserve a big pat on the back!

Hi all. I can't believe we are rounding another month. Where does time go....too bad time isn't something we can hoard.

well, I made my first mu purchase this month after not buying a Stitch of mu for 6 months. It was a couple eyeshadows and a couple of liners. ....and yep, it was a sale. Lol. After 6 months I felt it was time for a little treat. Now I am good for the next six.

I just realized I found this thread last February. I can't believe it has been a year. That is just amazing. ...and how far we have come.

Congratulations on finishing your Feb. ORC, BarbieDr. I've finally finished mine was well. It is so nice to have a really clean bathroom, even the drawers & cabinet. Now I've been getting rid of clutter and stuff in the living room. One step at a time.

(And JustBee--my 13 yr old puppy baby is a parti colored cocker spaniel-- have any gifs of those babies?)

The ORC is one room done per 3 months, right? {#emotions_dlg.scared} {#emotions_dlg.laugh}

lol... I can't believe I am still poking along on my first room. Other things have taken priority recently but I need to buckle down and get to those boxes. They are a pain to go through and I know that is why I keep putting it off. Just putting things away would be easier.

I have been making some progress and even a bit in other rooms. I went through my dresser and closet again, removing clothes that are too large. Some things that will go to consignment in the fall were moved to the other side of my closet. The clothes I actually wear take up less than half of the closet and my dresser drawers have plenty of room in them, plus two of the 6 drawers are empty.

I finally bought more undies recently (I got the Rhonda Shear Pin-Up Girl set of 5 - love these) & actually have enough that fit to make it through a week! I forced myself to throw several too big pairs away but I must confess I saved several, too. I seem to be afraid to get rid of them just in case I can't get the laundry when I am running out of the good ones.

I DID IT!!! {#emotions_dlg.w00t} I finished my last open shower gel! I'll be opening my only unopened one tonight - Korres Basil & Lemon. No plans to buy more yet. I am planning to use up the bar soaps (maybe 3-4) I have first. I'm going to stick one in the shower & I'll have the option of using the gel or the bar. I might be ready to buy shower gel by the end of the year if I wait until all are gone. But, I might get a (ONE) shower gel before then if I finish the gel & find just using the bar soap makes me feel limited. We'll see.

I have not been using my body butters and lotions much at all. I go in spurts on using them and really don't know why I forget. I've been good about using my small hand creams but I have not used any up completely. I've been making big dents in other products - like facial masks. I have really made a point of using them regularly. I may even get to the bottom of my monster size 12 oz jar of Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque before the end of the year! lol...

It astounds me how long things last. I have not purchased anything that I was not out of in over a year. And I really don't have that many extra products. I think I had about 7 open & partly used shower gels and it took that long to get through them all. I'm still not anywhere close to being out of foundation. I'll never run out of BE shadows and blushes. I'm having fun using them in new combos and rediscovering some. I have a few shades I'd like but I am purposely avoiding looking for them. I'm doing fine with what I have for now.

Has spring been a challenge for anyone? Or is it still too early for some of you who are buried under snow?

For me, spring is that time of year when I just want to wipe the slate clean and start all over again. I want to be all new.

I have a long list of things I want to do, but I also know that it's a lousy time to invest in anything that requires cash because April -- the cruellest month -- looms. Tax time. Income taxes, property taxes. And I really need to have an arborist come out and look at my trees.

We've been in this house since 1995 and I'm expecting a number of things to start going wrong. Appliances... roof... you name it -- we're at risk! Ah, the joys of home ownership.

But don't you just want to change the way you're eating? After months of soups, stews, casseroles, and pasta, it's time for lighter fare. I bought two melons yesterday. They'll probably taste like cucumbers, but I just had to. I bought a new geranium for the front yard. Again, I had to.

I'm thinking it's time to get new frames, cut my hair, and wash the car.

Even beauty items are looking tempting. Do I need a new shampoo/conditioner? A different BB cream?

After swearing that philosophy and I had broken up for good, I actually ordered more pure grace spritz over the weekend. (They made me an offer I couldn't refuse.) I'd decided to stop using my signature fragrance because it just has no staying power and that's frustrating. But the thought of going out to find a replacement is even more frustrating. I have bottles of replacements in the closet that were supposed to make the transition happen. I can't wear any of them. I know I'll end up spending more and adding to the collection of unusable scents. The upside is that I had a problem with the discount code, sent an email to philosophy, and they responded with one of the nicest messages I've seen in years. If they keep this up, I might consider getting back together.

So I guess I just wanted to say that when that feeling grabs you and you realize spring has sprung, don't panic. It's normal. It's a good thing. It's optimism. But if you suddenly want to buy every new thing you see, take a deep breath and come here.

Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever see that day. The Lone Shower Gel. I can't even imagine what that feels like. But I want to know.

Someday...
