I had been hoarding the Venus Razor that you put a battery in and it was fantastic.  However, I finally ran out.  Cannot find them anywhere.  I've been trying other Venus razors and not getting a very good shave.  Does anybody have any great suggestions?  TIA. Heart

All razors suck. Get your legs waxed.

Re: Best Razor to Shave Legs??

I really prefer men's razors. They don't have those stupid "child safety" wires across the blades that prevent you from getting a close shave. I think the Schick Hydro 5 is the best. I will also use the Gillette Fusion 5 which is nearly as good.

The razor manufacturers make their money on the cartridges. So use the coupons on the handles that come with 2 cartridges and keep on going with those. Plus, if you get CVS bucks on the handles you can buy a couple at a time and then walk out with a free one that you bought with CVS bucks.

I've been using the Emjoi sold here. I love it! It does have a shaving attachment, but I've never used it. I use the epilating head. I've gone from shaving every other day to removing my leg hair twice a week at most - sometimes once! Smiley Happy

BIC, in the orange pack.  Simple double-blade disposable razor.

Frankly, I would rather not do it at all and during the winter I do not (shave my legs).  I always remind my husband how much more surface there is on a leg than a face (and he has a beard).  So sorry you have to shave, buddy (meaning my husband).  You try bending down in the shower while avoiding nicks.

Re: Best Razor to Shave Legs??

I'm on the verge of switching back to a men's razor after trying the Venus.  What's with these manufacturers making women's razors only in plastic?  Do they think we aren't strong enough to hold a small stainless steel tool?  I can never get a good grip on those stupid plastic devices.

This thread reminded me of my first razor that Mom bought for me at Woolworth' s, around 1962.  It was just like my Dad's Gillette razor, except the handle was a bit shorter & tinted pink.  It came in a plastic drawstring bag, with an extra razor blade.  Had to turn the handle to make the business end open up, then set the double-edge razor on there, then turned the handle again to close it up.  I think they stopped making those many years ago.

Men's razors are much better / last longer than women's.  And drug stores have very good deals on disposable razors that you can combine with manufacturer coupons to get them practically for free.  I used to get the cartridges but they're hopelessly expensive.

Re: Best Razor to Shave Legs??

The obvious answer is a sharp blade!! But I have an older version of the Venus -- not the redesigned one that is currently available in the stores. This razor takes Sensor Excel-- Women's and when that is not available in BB&B or Harmon Cosmetics stores I buy the Sensor Excel blades -- for the men's razor!!

OP you may want to try Amazon for that Venus with battery razor -- its worth a shot to look there for a replacement.
