Re: Bare Minerals serum foundation

I think QVC's is a good deal if you want the brush.

However, they don't carry all the shades. What I want most is a shade that works for me.

So, if you don't fall into the range of QVC shades, it's now available in 20 shades other places.

Re: Bare Minerals serum foundation

ITA with SuzyQ3 quoted below. That is why I resisted with all of my might that Bobbi Brown TSV. I don't WANT a pencil liner when she has that awesome gel and I don't WANT a cream blush when I prefer powder.

I do like the Bare Minerals serum foundation now. I had to work with it and my primer because it looked too greasy and icky after 5 hours. It worked well today, though with my BM mineral veil. I also used my Smashbox liner and YBF brow pencil along with Mally shadows and Butter London Lippy lip gloss. I'm a mail order makeup JUNKIE.

I agree that it's a good deal only if you would use the brush or, per my example, you like both shades of the cheek gelees.

Now, moving on to sets, then I'm just not interested. I don't care how many times they tell me that if I bought each item individually, it would have cost me $1,000 ({#emotions_dlg.lol}) but today and only today it's mine for $69 and change. I'm just not one who ever seems to want even close to all the items offered.

My 67 year old skin is oily and this foundation is much too shiny looking for me.

The Serum foundation is at BE counters in all stores which carry the brand and websites as of May 1. IMO I would have waited to see all of the colors instead of ordering from the limited number offered by QVC unless you know for sure your shade was one offered by Q. In my case several of the darker shades were not on the QVC list, so it definitely was better to wait.

Re: Bare Minerals serum foundation

I ordered from the Q and I hated the brush. I liked my sigma F80 better. I returned it because of the color. I repurchased at the BE boutique last friday and got a great color so I have had it a week now.

I have used it all week... Some days, I LOVED it... other days... I hated it...Will definitely keep playing with it. Not sure what I did on the days I didn't like it...

My favorite foundation is Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua... and both textures are similar... but the finishes are different.

Happy Friday! TGIF!!

Agree. I tried it and sent it back. Sticking with the primer and mineral version. The primer is awesome for oily skin!

The ULTA near me carries the brand and did not have the new foundation in the store yesterday, May 1. Macy's had it when I was there on April 30.

The only thing QVC had going for them was that the brush was included. I don't think you need a special brush to apply though personally, just one dense enough since it isn't powder.

It really annoys me more and more when companies have products exclusive to QVC.

It makes me very happy if it's something that I can get bundled here but would have to pay so much more for elsewhere. I'm not sure why that's a bad thing, or maybe I misunderstood what you mean.

I bought the duo of JM's cheek gelees here for just a few dollars more than I would have paid for one of them at Sephora. And it was free shipping when I ordered.

ETA: I just saw HappyDaze's reply to you, and I realized that you were probably talking about the foundation being exclusive and not the bundle of it with the brush.

Correct, I mean more for single items. Kits are nice when everything included is something you want, but I hate when a single product is exclusive to any store, especially online, and especially for something we really need to try in person to get the correct shade! I would rather buy in person with no shipping charge if possible, or at another site who doesn't charge shipping!!!

I don't mind it, especially when they do wind up in brick and mortar stores later. Sure, I'm late to the party when I wait, but once it's in the B&M stores, I can go get shade matched and get a sample, then buy the set with the brush from QVC. Since I buy from those B&M stores normally, I don't feel badly about trying something there and buying elsewhere, especially if it means I won't have to deal with return charges. And if I need a replacement once it runs out and the brush is still fine, then I can get the new bottle locally.

One of the bloggers I follow uses another brush and prefers it. I think she uses the Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Unfortunately, that brush comes only in a set. Most reviewers love the brush but are not wowed by the rest of the set. I just bought the RT Expert Face brush, which is very similar. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with my foundation (not the BM serum one). It's garnered excellent reviews.

BTW, ULTA is having a BOGO on the RT brushes. So between that and my $3.50 off coupon, I got this and their Stipple brush for $11 and change. Not too shabby.
