Re: Anyone have this problem ?

Serious skin care, Reverse Lift, was the worst garbage I've ever used.  It did exactly what poster here described.   I sent it back.

Isomers, also, no help.  I tried another hyaluronic from Loves whole foods, and that dried my skin also.

Currently using PTR Cloud Drench  and I like it...but, I apply on very wet skin, and mist my face afterwards.   Not sure I would order again, but, I'll wait and see.  I dont why, but PTR creams never work for me.  I'm a big fan of hyaluronic,  but it seems its hit and miss.  M.Asam made a very good one in the blue dropper bottle,  but then he changed the formula,  and it balled up and didnt plump.  So , another one, OUT!

Re: Anyone have this problem ?

Great responses , i know everyone is different , but i believe some ingredients aren't right for every skin , some basics exfoliating in moderation , retinol or glycolic for some skin and maybe just a moisturizer as basic as Ponds or Clinique , my problem is skincare is my hobby , experimenting to see if the next best thing is there. I rarely use more than one product at a time , to see if how it reacts  , our diet needs more than one food daily , so using the same product fo years may not doing your skin justice. Thanks.

@MW in Iowa, What are you using as your moisturizer on top of your treatments? If I had these issues, I would try a diffferent, possibly thicker and heavier, moisturizer.

Argon oil at night after I wash my face with Dave soap and water. The argon oil makes my skin nice and soft.

During the day I wear eucerin creme with sunscreen on my face.

When I bought my Clarisonic, one of the first ones, the instructions said to use it morning and night...it didn't take me long to figure out that was too much. Most skincare products do not give different directions for older skin either...what a great concept no one see,s to have thought of yet!

I just cannot use the Clarisonic, even with their most gentle brush.

I believe there was a time I could have used it twice a day with no bad effects.  I found out that either hormonal change and/or using Retin-A have made it difficult to do what I used to with my skin.  I had super strong skin I could do most anything to - but no more!

I am still looking for a cleanser that doesn't strip my skin.  The closest I have come is Cetaphil Gentle, but even that dries my skin out at times.  I miss my strong skin!

Re: Anyone have this problem ?

Retinol and Retin A will dry your skin out something fierce. Retin A was originally created to control acne. Exfoliating removes dead dry skin, but it also leaves your newer skin unprotected and prone to dry out if you don't protect it immediately. Collagen inducing treaments like heavy dermabrasion and microneedling cause the skin to swell and look nice and plump, but when the swelling goes down, you lose the plumping effect and may have drier skin as the water evaporates out of your skin.

I think the answer is to be nice to your face. I use treatments to guide and help it in the direction I want to go. And then I cover it in a nice protective blanket of moisturizer (and when appropriate sunscreen) to keep it safe and happy.

I live in Florida, so with our high humidity, HA works great for me when I need some extra moisture. Often I just use my well water for a serum and apply a couple of drops of Argan oil, and I'm set for the day.

with their skincare routine , you cleanse , put your treatments on and think how renewed you look , then look in the mirror a half hour later and look wrinkled and older than you did. No shade to any particular line , but i think for me ,sodium hyaluronate as a base in some of these formulas works in reverse for me , i remember using isomers that was 3 forms of it only made me look more wrinkled instead of hydrated , is it just me or anyone else have this happen ?

I read once that it's 'cell turnover.' It said just put something on your face and stand in front of a mirror and watch for 15 minutes (too long!) and you can actually watch it happen. I tried that and found that it only worked if I came back in 15 minutes, as you said, and you look completely different. Cell turnover.

@151949  Everything sounds on point, but doubting the Dove...as gentle as the claims are, it’s still soap. Try a gentle, non-foaming cleanser like Cetaphil.

@Shanus, I agree about soap, but I personally think that Cerave is a better way to go.
