I recently decided to go gray after years of coloring my dark hair; took about 4 months for all of it to be salt and pepper. Very pleased with it and get many comments. My hairdresser is pleased with the results also. I was very tired of using chemicals on my hair and realized it was time for a change.

@Kabella ... I'm not a hairdresser, but I'll give you my opinion, for what it is worth. I would keep it natural. It will probably look great, and it is much less maintenance. If you decide you don't like it, you can always add color back in. But, if you color it now, and then decide you would have preferred it natural, you'll have to go through a whole long process to get it back to natural. So, give it some time now, and make your decision later.

@ItsME Thank You! I have decided to let it grow out & cut it myself along the way. I will not color it with a box color & do realize its a long process. Hopefully I do not end up coloring it when it finally grows out & I hope I like the look on me. Also, my hair grows very fast so that a good thing thats in my favor.
