Morracanoil isn't even an oil, it's just a product with a bunch of silicones and little bit of oil.

I haven't had any issues with the 613 styling creme being drying. I think it glosses and smooths better than the original. The 613 mousse though, I do find to be a tad drying with continual use. I mix them up--alternate between the 613 and regular. I used to do that back in the days of poo and con too.
I'd also heard not just from Chaz but different stylists, saying that Moroccan oil is drying because it is just silicones--unless you buy some ultra-pure extracted thingy that's literally just the oil from some kind of nut. Frankly I've never had time to figure out which one is real and which is fake so I've stuck to the Wen oils since I started the program ![]()
And speaking of oils, I find them to be amazing for dry hair! Overnight oil treatments are a godsend, and have helped grow my hair from bob-length to mid back in 2 years.

I just order the 613 styling crème for the first time and hope that I like it. I will be disappointed if it is drying. I will be using it when I use up my current Wen styling crème in almond mint which I really like.

I just ordered it, too...I have used the fig styling cream, which works well but the scent is one I really dislike. Hope they are not drying...
REALLY did not like the 613 mousse...
The Alterna CC styling cream is great, by the way...

Thanks for the suggestion. I may have to try this in the future. If Wen styling products aren't working than other alternatives are available that many of have used before using Wen.

OP-- you might want to try the sam or fig styling crèmes if you're stil interested in styling creme. I find those to be most moisturizing. I have dry hair and can only use seasonals and 613 every now and then or mixed in with cores like fig or tea tree. 613 sc is okay for me but doesn't leave my hair as soft as fig or sam do.

I'm going to chime in with my two cents........I agree with pretty much everything Hilary said! Like her, I can only use 613/BGT/seasonals occasionally, my hair does not need the additional amino acids every cleanse. If I overdo it with these, my hair becomes dry, brittle, and tangles easily (which it NEVER does with Wen). I can use any of these about every other cleanse, that's it.
Like others have mentioned, you may want to try using one of your core CCs for cleansing and as a leave in, see if that helps.
Since you're asking specifically about the 613 Styling cream, I really like it, I find that it gives more shine than the core styling creams. However, I don't use it every day (because I don't want to overdo it on the amino acids), so I can't say that it has caused dryness.
Jaxsmom made a great suggestion to try the Fig or SAM styling creams. I haven't tried the Fig, but I have the SAM. My SO loves it for his wavy/curly hair, and I like it in the winter. I find that it's a bit heavier than the other core SC.

Seriously! I searched all over for it in stores when it came out, read the label and left without buying it. If I want that, I'll buy a silicone serum, not anything called an oil.

I'm going to keep using the 613 styling cream and use SAM or Cucumber CC and see it that helps. Hillary made great sense about the amino acids and reading back through old Wen forum posts I see where other's have had problems when using only 613 or seasonal ccs.
I know I need to use a styling cream as I'll be on a lake for the summer and want to prevent sun damage as much as possible. If my hair doesn't moisten up with the core CC's I'll try another styling cream.
Thanks everyone for all of your input, you guys are great! Karen
