I have this in the large size and you don't mix this will water. Just the oil with dry hands and face. This line is great. I purchased the TSV for when I go on vacation next month.

What seems a but disingenuous about this discovery kit is that, about two years ago, Tatcha was selling the try me sizes of both the camellia cleansing oil and the enzyme powder on their website for $4 each.
Clearly the company wasn't as well known at the time, and so they were probably offering these very inexpensive sample prices as a way to get customers to try their product line. That said, it seems to me that one of the purposes of the TSV discovery kit is to encourage people to try their line at a bargain price.
So from my perspective, this discovery kit seems very overpriced.

Yes, you apply the cleansing oil with dry hands to a dry face. After massaging it in that way, you're supposed to add a little water to emulsify it into a cleansing milk during the rinsing process. When Vicky does the demo's she uses water after massaging the oil in. I don't think she ever recommended applying the oil and just wiping it off with a cloth.

Whoever noted these products have talc in them, I just want to clarify that I own all these products and there is no talc listed. Thanks.

The talc is listed as the first ingredient on the Classic Rice Enzyme Powder that's included in the TSV Discovery Kit, which is what's being discussed in this thread.
TATCHA Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
TALC, MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE, POTASSIUM MYRISTATE, CELLULOSE, ORYZA SATIVA
(RICE) BRAN, PAPAIN (PAPAYA EXTRACT), ALGAE EXTRACT, CAMELLIA SINENSIS (GREEN TEA)
LEAF EXTRACT, HYDROLYZED CONCHIOLIN (PEARL) PROTEIN, GLYCERIN, DEXTRIN, ALCOHOL,
PHENOXYETHANOL

@Pecky and @JeanLouiseFinch, during the demo last night, Vicki mentioned that you needed to apply the Camellia cleansing oil to your dry face. She said that if you added it to your wet face that this would start the emulsification process immediately and prevent the oil from doing the best job of getting the excess gunk out of your pores.
As JLF mentioned, you add a bit of water during the rinsing process.

@JeanLouiseFinch and @kr682 that's really interesting because during two of Vicki's early presentations today she made a specific point of saying that there was no talc in this product. I think she may have even added something about how talc wasn't a part of the product because some people found that it irritated their skin.
I don't know why but the second time she mentioned this, she sounded very determined... almost angry. It was a bit surprising. I wonder if she had just found out that talc had been listed (incorrectly?) in the QVC list of ingredients.

Tatcha was to have removed the talc from that product earlier this year. Those who were on Auto Delivery for the Enzyme Powder received a letter from QVC/Tatcha explaining the formula change. Many posted about it here on this board. So it would appear then that the QVC ingredient listing for the TSV is incorrect.
Regarding water and the cleansing oil, I also own the product and it is supposed to be applied to a dry face and hands (as mentioned). The only thing Vicki ever said about water is that once you apply water to rinse it off - it will rinse off easily and completely. And that's true. Once water touches it, the product is gone immediately. So there's no milky massage step involved, at least not for me. The water instantly takes the product off my skin's surface.

@JeanLouiseFinch and @kr682, this whole thing got me curious, so I just called QVC CS and asked them about the enzyme powder ingredients deck. lol, the CS rep started listing them -- using QVC's internal info guide -- and talc was not among the ingredients.
I asked her to look at the TSV page and she was surprised to find that talc was listed as the first ingredient. Then I told her what Vicki Tsai had been saying.
She's having someone look into it right now. Once they confirm the correct ingredients listing she expects their IT department to revise the listing hopefully fairly quickly.
Bottom line, it sure sounds as though there isn't any talc in the current enzyme powder.

Here are the instructions for the Cleansing Oil direct from their website:
Begin with dry hands and a dry face. Apply 1-2 pumps into the palm of your hand and massage onto face, including around the eyes. Rinse off with warm water. The oil will emulsify into a milk and effortlessly melt away makeup and debris.
