Can't really see much so I am trying to remember what I read this morning.
I was worrying possum about you when I read about the ice storms in Missouri--hope it wasn't too bad for you.
Snappy I never could stay up that late. I am more of a morning person to get things done. I remember years ago I was struggling to stay up when The Fugitive was on. Recorders were never invented yet.
Nice today for a walk but rain is still coming at the end of this week.
End of this week is rreally going to be something and I don't mean the weather.

Hi Possummink and Friends:
Saturday was a very sad day for all Seahawk Fans when we lost our game to the Falcons. We just didn't play well and the Falcons had a great win. I would have loved to have continued on in the playoffs but it just wasn't our year I guess. I did enjoy the Patriots game and Green Bay. We are football fans in our home and love them all.
You should be glad you are in Florida and not Missouri. My Son said it is really wicked and very dangerous driving, he sent me some snaps on my phone of his plants and trees and they are so icy they look brittle. Hope he doesn't have a lot of damage to his property he has a large lot I think over an acre. So far they have kept their power on. I think we will all be glad to see Spring arrive. It has been so cold here, in the 20's at night and maybe if we are lucky high 30's during the day. Brrrr!!!
Snappy so glad you are getting some much needed rainfall. It must be so hard to live with a drought. Sounds like you are doing well and looking forward to the new grandbaby. Like your DD my DS has been sick with a cold like virus he came home from work last week and was not feeling well. Aching and cold. His poor nose was running like a sieve and so we got out the cough medicine and hot tea and he was home from work for five days including the weekend and really not over it when he went back but he had too. So glad I was spared.
Wishing all my friends on this thread a blessed week, stay warm and safe.![]()

These photographs of Yellowstone National Park by Dave Lane are so gorgeous it’s difficult to believe they’re from real life.

Hi Silkeej, I'm glad you were spared the cold and illness your son had, but it seems to be making the rounds all over the country. My brother was so bad he went to the doctor and they put him on antibiotics. I haven't talked to him since Friday, but my daughter went over and checked on him Saturday.
I don't remember the grocery stores closing in the early afternoon for a long time at home. They were right to do it though because their employees had to travel on those icy roads to get home. My daughter and granddaughter were able to leave their jobs early too. My daughter said the roads were all but deserted. I read that MODOT, dept. of transportation, used 45,000 tons of salt on the roads just for this series of ice storms. They kind of came in waves. I hope your son's property didn't get any damage. It's pretty to see, but only if there's just a glaze of ice.
There's a warm up coming this week plus more rain.
I watched the Seahawk/Falcon game too, and was surprised that the Falcons won. I don't follow them very much, but I do know Ryan is a good quarterback. My sister lives in a suburb of Dallas and I know they were really disappointed, but I'm glad the Packers won. What I didn't know because I switched the channel after the game, was that the fans at the Dallas stadium were told not to leave the stadium due to the tornadoes in the area. I didn't even know severe weather was going on down there. I know there were 2 confirmed tornadoes in that area.
Take care of yourself and keep warm especially on your walks. I should walk, but it's warm and sunny here and I don't like to be in the sun due to sun damage to my skin. I usually find some kind of excuse, but really I need to do it.

Renee, I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your eyes. I hope they improve or maybe a doctor can recommend something to help. I don't remember if you said anything about cataracts. I had one removed on my left eye and it made a big difference.
Thank you for worrying about the ice storms in Missouri. It was a pretty bad storm and there were about 3 waves of them. Luckily the power stayed on at the houses and also at my daughters home. The grocery stores, malls, school, and almost all businesses closed due to the dangerous roads. That helped the highway department put down the salt and brine solutions to help melt the ice.
It's warming up now and rain is expected for a couple of days more.
I know what you mean about the end of the week and I'm hoping that there's no violence and that people can learn to behave and get along. Sad that things can be so bad.
Take good care of yourself and give the kitties a pet and hug for me. ![]()
