Hi possummink, thanks for the newsy post. Good to know you and your property are okay. Hope your brother gets well soon. As we age, the chest colds are serious things.

Glad your DD is looking out for him and your places there. That ice sounds so treacherous. I'd be scared stiff to try to drive in it. I can certainly see why you take in your banana plants and other more delicate things.

I guess the Chargers are coming to LA. Lots of big cities have more than one team.

We lost the Rams and Raiders long ago and were with pro footall for a lot of years.

I barely care anymore. But I did see parts of the games you watched and they were good ones.

I'm glad the weather is nice where you are. We have been so blessed with rain. And there is more coming this week and into next week. It's been mostly the long steady soaking kind that we so need. Yes, they say the drought is over for 40% of the state and we are in that part. Or at least DD#1 is. I'm so happy to be able to wear some of the long sleeved tops and soft cuddly AnyBody and Cuddl duds and warm pjs.

Thanks for stopping to chat. And for the pictures.

HiLo, glad to see you today. I left you a little message on hello. DD and I got up to go to church, but she may have a fever and has other symptoms that told us to stay home. Listened to Charles Stanley a little while ago.

I have Oswald Chambers perpetual calendar on the kitchen table. He had so much depth to his teaching. Sometimes I don't agree with all he says, sometimes I don't understand it, and sometimes it hits home perfectly.

Glad to know his book is out in more readable form.

You and I are in the same sleep pattern. I go to bed between 1:30 and 2 in the morning and get up somewhere around 9 hours later. Sleep very well, but its an odd schedule.

Doesn't matter since I'm just here at home. Makes it hard when like tomorrow, I have to be at the doctor's early, but that's not too often.

Seems to me that a lifetime ago I had Screw Tape Letters which are Lewis's writing.

Can't remember if I read them or not. I'm aware of Mere Christianity, but didn't read it sort of on purpose.

Truthfully, I find it hard to focus on reading anything except my Bible.

I play gams on my Kindle Fire and listen to praise music or the news on TV.

I'm looking forward to the inauguration, but praying there won't be any violence anywhere.

I'm sure your son and Gs will have a wonderful time. Once in a lifetime perhaps.

Praying for out nation, and both the outgoing and incoming presidents. Lots of adjustments to be made.

God bless our country.

See you soon. If you are in contact with any of the KS ladies, tell them hello for me.

They are special people.

I wonder what this world will be like for my little as yet unborn GGchild. I won't be around to know, but it's something to ponder.

Snappy:

Got a call from Bobbi yesterday...I believe the new med is helping her to breathe a little better but the Dr. made it clear that since the disease is progressing so rapidly she probably will not be here too much longer.  Not much of a surprise to her or me but was happy that her son Zack is so willing to help her....a friend who takes her to church can do a little bit but after all has her own problems at 80. Did you realize Barb's husband had the same problem?  Also her ability to drive may also be curtailed.

Problem with Chamber's writings is they are very deep, even at the latest printing.  But it never hurts to have to chew....so many devotions are far too simple...just read and little to digest.  I know one thing for certain, after I read these, I am always convicted that I have grown so little in these many years.  Was wondering if Chamber's background is Calvinistic, but don't think that was so for many of these great men in England.

Are you watching Masterpiece's version of "Victoria"?  Missed the first part last night but there have been many versions in the past.  Do think Her Magesty V. would be very proud of her gggranddaughter (or is it ggg) Elizabeth and Will will be just the perfect King.and Kate as queen, a winning combination. It has been said that the Queen is not willing to give up the throne yet to Charles......the Brits want Will. Imagine how it must have hurt the Queen for the royals to be involved in so much scandal through the years, though Victoria also had her share brought on by a spoiled bunch.

Snappy, you do very well in your sleep pattern.  I never sleep through the night, only little bits here and there, am up and down all night long in the bathroom as well.  My other friends here have the same problem; one takes a sleeping pill every night but I just won't give into that yet......after a while they just won't work anymore.  Just thankful I'm not working and have that schedule.....so many do,   Like you, I am usually given morning appointments but prefer after 1:00pm when given the choice.

I just won't go into town on Friday for anything; probably do much better watching on the TV...they don't know how far back in line they will be anyway.  I hate it that all these marches are allowed on that one special day every 4 years.....all this at such a cost to the government (us and them),    All we can do is pray things will work at better than any of us expect these days....I too think much about my ggrandson's future but as things come together more all over the world I'm not expecting things to turn out as others expect.  Many expect the US will be a 3rd world country by that time, only God knows for sure.  Do try to send my little bit to help others overseas though it's getting harder for me to do all the time, no increased government benefits.

Time to call my daughter; I check in with her every everning so she knows things are well here.

Hope you continue to sleep well, Snappy.

Love, HiLo
