Possummink: I'm relieved to know I'm not the only night owl; would be happy if I could sleep earlier but I just can't.
You are indeed fortunate to get a straight 8 hours

Hi Snappy and Friends, We have a sunny day here so far, but it's supposed to rain a bit later.
I hope you are doing well and will be able to find all the rides you need to get those treatments done and out of your way. I am like you and HiLo, I try to schedule any appointments for the early afternoon, 1 o'clock or 1:30 work the best for me as I go to bed late and sleep till about 10:30 or 11. I try for at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night. They say that's best for our brains. I do have the craziest dreams though sometimes. No clue where they come from. Really weird. I'd rather not dream but if my brain wants to have it's own fun while I sleep, I guess it's just fine. ????
Watching the Olympics is getting to be almost an obsession. Don't like missing the swimming or gymnastics. Not into the boxing, wrestling, etc.
Enjoy the rest of your Wednesday, Everyone and stay safe and cool.

Hi everyone - it has been hot and humid here and have had thunderstorms here for a few hours. That will make the humidity even worse.
Snappy - I cannot even imagine what you went through on Tuesday. You have your first treatments behind you and know what to expect.
TruthfullyI think it would be very difficult going into the room your DH was treated in - too many memories.
Do you have taxi service where you are that you could rely on when your DD goes back to work. Also, I am thinking about volunteers for your situation which the employees where you have radiation treatments would know about. Hopefully your family will be able to help and you won't have to worry about it.
It sounds like I am different than the rest of you, I always try and schedule appointments the first thing in the morning (much less waiting around). I also go to bed late around 1 AM, but get up around 7, have a nap in the afternoon.
Another GGC birthday this week - a little girl turning 2. Somehow going to a kids pizza place with 35 other people does just not appeal to me. I had the Birthday girl, her Mom and Grandma here yesterday for lunch and gifts.
I have been watching the Olympics also, especially like the beach volleyball and gymnastics.

Silkeej, thank you for the sweet note and prayers. Had the second treatment today. We have to allow an hour to get out there...TRUCKS on the freeway! They are all heading south which makes me wonder if they are going to the ports to load things on ships.
Coming home north, there are way fewer of them so we made it in half an hour.
Yeah.
There is no pain with this treatment. No side effects yet. I put the cream for radiation burns on when we got home and will again tonight. They have ways of managing things that might arise. In the end, the cancer will be gone, and once healed, they said my nose will be "beautiful"...that will be an improvement..
Thank you for the sweet offer to drive. We would help each other for sure. The only people who haven't said yes or no about helping are my DS and his wife. Don't know what to make of that, but I turned this project over to DD#1 who is good at it.
One more and then the weekend. Yeah.
Are you enjoying the Olympics? I really am. They are a great diversion.
Take care and God bless you.

HiLo, I know the Lord is with me. Today I wore hubby's
wedding ring on my middle finger. It's bitter sweet. But we had a nice chat with the blond lady whose name escapes me. She was there with him and we remember her well.
Honestly, I think it was less than 30 seconds today. Takes way longer to get me in place. Oh so thankful since I have panic. So far no side effects, but I bought the radiation burn cream and am using it to keep my skin moist. It may get dry and itch, or not. But it will all be red and dry inside. One day at a time.
On the way home I asked DD if she thought there is a way out there using surface streets.
She said probably, but it would take longer. If there is, I could do that. There are an unbelievably large number of huge trucks going out there and many coming home. Our little cars are almost hidden. Now DD#1 will use the HOV lane and zoom right past all fo them, but DD#2 won't.
Thank the ladies for praying for me and caring. I suppose the retreat is over now.
Hope Agnes's fiancee finds a job soon.
Blessings on you,
snappy

Hi 10grands, happy birthday to the little 2 year old! Kids pizza parties are so LOUD. For the young.
Sorry you have all that humidity. It would do me in. It's close to 90 today going UP to the triple digits for the weekend.
It is odd to be in the room where hubby was, on the same table, same people and decor.
But the treatments are VERY short and then we leave. I can't imagine how much it would cost to take a taxi out there and back. Way too much for me, for sure.
When hubby had treatments, I called the Cancer Society to see if they had volunteer drivers. They do, but won't cross into another county. We live in one county, and the center is in another. I'm positive they aren't into that sort of business where I'm going.
DD#1 and her hubby will drive me every day if necessary, but that would mean she would have to stay here 3 days every week. We don't have a guest room, and we do have our own routine. I know it would work out if necessary and am thankful. My son and his wife haven't said anything at all about helping. Don't know what that means, but left that with DD#1.
Take care of yourself..stay safe and dry.
