Hi possummink,

Sorry the movie was silly, but live and learn. At least you spent time with family.

Your hamburgers and side dishes sound good. How much almond extract do you add to your cherry pie filling? I'm sure it's delicious.

My mother and step father argued many times over whether or not apple pie should have cinnamon or nutmeg. Silly things.

Just heard from the doctor. I do have basal cell cancer, so they are arranging for me to see a doctor about treatment. Praying I can go back where hubby went since I know the people and they are very kind and caring.

Thanks for letting us know -  Now you can go ahead and get started with treatments.  Those people here where my DH and I went for treatments were also very kind and friendly,  that helps so much.

The Booted Racket-tail (Ocreatus underwoodii) - also known as Racket-tailed Puffleg - is a South American hummingbird.:

Hi Snappy and Friends,   Thank you for letting us know what the doctor said.   I hope the treatment is started soon so you can beat this thing and be done with it.

I use 1/4 tsp. almond extract to 4 cups of tart, pitted, red cherries.   I do use the canned RTP cherries if I don't have fresh ones.  I use the juice that's in the can and the pies turn out perfectly.  It's easier almost than using fresh cherries, which are hard to find, because I don't have to pit them.

For apple pie, I use a mixture of spices,   The recipe calls for cinnamon but since we all like spices,  I use cinnamon, nutmeg, a bit of cloves, and allspice, and a pinch of ginger,   I usually tinker with pie recipes and add favorite spices.   I can hardly ever stick to the recipe when it comes to the seasonings.  I do the same thing to Chili and soups.  I don't use recipes for chicken soup, my beef, barley soups, etc.   I am making myself hungry..   Had cereal for breakfast instead of usual eggs and sausage link with toast.

It's 94 here and humid,  The sky, inland, to the east is looking stormy, so I hope we get some rain.  Love when it rains.

Have a nice rest of your evening, Everyone and keep cool.  Tomorrow is Wednesday already.  These Monday holidays throw me off at times. Cat Very Happy

Hi BalletBabe welcome!!!!   You will find this thread very friendly and the people on it the best friends you have had in a long time. We are all in the same boat and not one of our choosing. I found it very helpful,  all the ladies are kind and understanding. We have all been where you are and hopefully can help you in the months ahead. My DH has been gone a year now and I still miss him like it happened just yesterday. I would have been a lost soul without these wonderful friends to encourge and understand me all these months. Hope you will come often and post.
