10grands:  Thank you it just came from my heart, I admire karuna's  bravery and courage so much and pray she gets to enjoy her new Grandbabies.

I know its hard for some to go to the cemetery it brings back many sad memories of what was.  I find it a peaceful visit with my DH.  I plan to go out after Thanksgiving and take him flowers. For me it is the only place I have to visit him and speak with him from my heart.  It's been very healing for me even though many times I shed tears.   Silly, I know but I think he knows I am there and comes to see me too. I imagine him young again, healthy and happy.  It gives me great comfort.

Most of my family and my DH's live out of state so its just my immediate family of four who get together for the holidays. I would love to host a big Thanksgiving for my family. You are lucky to have so many love ones close by.

I know getting the house back in order is a real chore.  I hope it goes better for you than you anticipate.  Just think of how nice it will be when it is all done and you can just enjoy it.

birdmama, thank you for posting about your life with your birds. I immediately thought of the woman in Mary Poppins who feeds the birds in the square. Love the way they are housebroken. DD#1 has a new dog who is one year old and trained for the piddle pads. Almost like your birds. They are really fortunate to have you caring for them.

Love it that Grayson is like a doggie with people. Visiting your house would be a real treat.

Your home sounds beautiful. Love the look of colonials. Don't see them here in CA.

We have a mediterranian style which is common here. Red tile roof. Courtyard in the front.

I'm sorry you didn't feel free to post here in years past because of the way your hubby left this life. I do know there has been a stigma, but none of us can judge others rightly.

We don't know the heart of any other person. Glad you don't hold him responsible, so there is peace in your heart about it.

I hope you have something special to do tomorrow to celebrate Thanksgiving. We are going to DD#1 and her hubby's place. Everyone in the family will be there. Hope we can get a good picture. If you get lonely, someone will probably be here to chat.

Hi goldens, thank you for your post. Years ago, DannysWife posted her email address, and I have it, but have never used it. It might not be current, and I won't post it, but I suppose if I truly got desperate enough I could try to contact her that way. My DD is always warning me about doing that sort of thing with people I don't really know.

I also think she is a lovely person, and feel so sorry for her and her family.
