When/Why Did You Start Watching QVC?

I was thinking the other day about what brought me to QVC around six years ago, and it was Bare Minerals. I went into a Bare Minerals store for a makeover and purchased many items. Of course, I was put on their mailing list.

Then I received an email from Bare Minerals saying they were going to be a contender for a beauty award on QVC, giving the date and time, and saying there would be special pricing for at least one of their products.

So I found where QVC was on my Direct TV, scheduled to record the Beauty Awards show, which happened to be the last time Lisa Robertson presented the awards. It was a very glamorous program with, I think, Alberti Popaj greeting each of the winners before receiving their award. Very black tie and gown night.

I purchased many of the items from different vendors that night and have been with QVC every since then, with the first thing being the Clarisonic. I already had everything of Bare Minerals I needed.

Before then, I always wondered when I would scroll by QVC looking for something to watch, why in the world anyone would want to watch a channel that is 24/7 commercials! Now I know.

How about you? What brought you to QVC and what did you purchase first?

Started watching the Q from the very beginning. For me, it was mid-April of 1986- almost exactly 35 years ago to the day. The cable installer came to my first, new (to us) house. When he connected the bedroom TV he turned to QVC and said it was a new shopping channel that women were enjoying. I introduced the Q to my mom. She did not dare to shop until my DF passed away- then she went at it a bit too much. we had both watched HSN previous to finding QVC

Silver jewelry got my attention.

I used to watch Jane every Sunday morning, I still have the pieces I purchased.

Had to be around 30 years ago

Oh my..... about the early to mid 90's our city (San Diego) had a shopping channel called America's Shopping Channel and QVC bought them out. So I started watching and loved what was sold, loved the quality and bought a lot. The first thing I bought was a pair of .50 Diamonique earrings in 14k gold. I wore, wore and wore those earrings until I lost one. Tried to buy the same earrings later but the gold was lighter, not the same and never did end up with another pair.... lol but I'm still here....

It was right from the beginning. At first I thought it was dumb, but then I ordered a gold bracelet and the rest is history. I really liked Kathy Levine.

I began watching Q during summers when things could only be ordered at the time they were shown.

I had sleeping babies up stairs and had to be near.

Does anyone remember "Ellen" selling LaMiradore?

I bought my first home in 1988 and got cable soon after. Was intrigued by QVC and watched a lot of jewelry shows. A sapphire ring - which I still have - was my first purchase.
