We had to bring our 26 year old daughter, who has severe autism, home from a residential facility in Kentucky after she was there six months. We thought we had found a good place for her to live and thrive. Unfortunately her behaviors got the better of her, and her caretakers at this place did not keep us adequately informed until things had gotten out of hand. Then their only solution was for her to be removed. Very disheartened by this.

@dex wrote:@chrystaltree That sounds like a special time to me.I remember when you talked of the babies birth and everyone was trying to spend time visiting the baby.I thought that you would enjoy every bonding moment and opportunity to give your daughter a break.I don't have any grandchildren yet so I envy your weekend.
It's pretty sad when someone doesn't enjoy getting to spend time with their child and grandchild. Then again, they may not be thrilled about having to be with her either. She seems quite difficult to get along with, probably why she works from home. I never thought she seemed to be mother of the year material, most likely had children for all the wrong reasons.

I run my own business from home; not because I'm difficult, but because I prefer to manage my own resources in the way I think best.
Wanted ownership of my own Intellectual Property, and full compensation for same. I got tired of creating products which were marketed and sold under some one eles's name - they received full price, I got the same old salary.
Call me crazy.
It was a smart move for me.

I'm Jewish and was a member of my Temple for 11 years. I participated in many social events, services, holiday parties, etc. 2-1/2 yrs ago, there seemed to be lots more children, parents, teachers, etc. who I have nothing in common with. So - I just decided not to go back.

Oh my. What a nice thread. Do you really wish to know my latest challenges?? Ok. First my husband passed away after battling melanoma. I'm scarred for life.
Then on august 14 I had TKR surgery. It went well, but OUCH!!! I doing well, though.
Still I am thankful for whatever comes my way and things could always be worse. We're just passing thru.
