@Allegheny big thank you for explaining sleep paralysis, you have really helped me understand what my body was going thru.


Glad I could shed some light.  I've have had only one episode, but it scared me greatly.  My I suggest if you have frequent occurrences that you do discuss with your physician,  He/she may recommend a sleep study. Take Care.

@Allegheny  Does not happen often (hope I didn't jenk myself and have it happen tonight).  It is a terrible experience for sure.  Thanks again for info.  I am really grateful to all for things I have learned.

I finally researched it because I would feel/see someone near me and felt unable to speak or move. It happens when transitioning in/out REM sleep. Once I knew I wasn’t crazy I could try to relax to let it pass. Once I retired and was getting more sleep it has lessened dramatically. It’s scary.
