So I have a question. A few days ago a friend in Europe sent me a message via Messenger and I of course responded to her. Today I saw her message and my reply on my feed. Are those messages not private? Do they always show up on our feed?  If so, holy I'm blushing batman!

I use Messenger nearly every day, and I've never had that happen.  I've never heard of it happening either.  Sounds strange!

I would be lost w/out Facebook.  I get to interact with family members, friends and former classmates who don't live near me.  Yes, there is a ton of political garbage right now.  I have several FB friends (both relatives and friends) that post several political memes, articles, etc. a day.  I unfollow them.  I'm still "friends" with them on FB but by unfollowing them, their posts do not appear on my timeline.  Occasionally, I'll go to the individual page and quickly scroll thru to see if they are still doing this.

@Shanus .............I think you should check it out again.  There are many options for privacy and you do not have to accept any friends you dont want to.  If you check it out for yourself you can stay or go, which ever you choose.

Its not the gremlin a lot of people make it out to be.  Thats the choice of the member.

I've heard issues with hacking in and getting personal info. Any opinions on that?

According to Facebook they're supposed to be private.

Unless I'm the one that started a private message through messenger I don't read or answer them.  They get deleted.

@Shanus   Although Hacking does occur, most of the time, it is actually somebody cloning your facebook page.  To help eliminate this,  Make sure your friends are kept private.  You can even keep them hidden from your facebook friends.  I have mine set so that only my FB Friendss can see my other friends.

I'm not on fb very often now. Not sure how to change the settings where you have more privacy either.

Mine has become full of selfies of middle age women who have discovered photoshop or whatever they use. They look great, but completely different than in real life. The ones who don't do selfies, they are braggadocious and I just don't have time for it.

Then there are the ones who post everything they eat. Whats up with that? I need to just delete my account. Every time I get on there, I get irritated.

I’m enjoying Instagram much more lately. FB is easier for me to go down the rabbit hole of political garbage and outrageous idiots and it increases my stress. 😡 I’ve put a lot of things on snooze for 30 days. I still go there because I have friends who post as well as a few groups that I follow that are important to me.
My Instagram feed is consistently cleaner - less polluted with stressful stuff and have to block.

@bikerbabe , same here.  I've not given up on social media, just the platform has changed.  I much prefer Instagram.  Less idiots.  LOL

I have snoozed a lot of friends and unfollowed them as well.  I don't deal well with conspiracy theorists or people who just repost garbage without checking authenticity.
