Are these groups on FB comprised of people you actually know?  Do they address the issues specifically or do they go off the ramp?

What we have been hearing about how FB is being used for all sorts of nefarious reasons might give me pause as to who or what is posting.  Is English their first language?  But hey, that's just me being paranoid.Woman Wink

The possible reasons are numerous.  Sometimes it's that people don't care and assume everyone will understand what they mean.  Sometimes it's lack of education.  Sometimes it's that their device has keys that aren't working.  Sometimes it's that English is not their first language.  Sometimes it's that they are developmentally disabled, have brain fog, can't see well, or some other disability/medical issue.  Sometimes it's that they are drunk.  No way to know if you don't know the person, or what's currently going in their life.

I tend to either ignore or tell them I'm not sure what they mean and see if they re-type it so I can understand.

BTW, my blood pressure is a bit low right now, so apologies in advance if the lack of adequate blood flow to my brain has affected my response.  Smiley Very Happy

I am a former educator, and am very picky about grammar and spelling... iPads are notorious for changing letters in words even after you spell them correctly.

It is annoying to try to read something with lots of spelling and grammar mistakes. Like others here, I don’t correct folks. But when I was young my mom was strict about speaking correctly and that’s why I usually notice mistakes.

Not a FB user.

I'm just thinking that it's possible that some posters just don't know any better.

(They didn't pay much attention to their teachers in the classroom.)

I'm often at fault, too.

Wondering if what I've posted is correct, grammar-wise.

It sounds 'right', but, then, again.....not so much.

'Oh, well'...........

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

The president of the United States, can't spell. I  don't worry about other people's spelling. There's more important things to worry about; first world problem.
