@MacDUFFWe just have a smoke odor outside and were asked to just go straight into buildings and not spend time outside.  Some people are having burning eyes or headaches.  I'm a little stopped up even though I had allergy shots last week.

@ECBG  Didn't they build one of the HGTV Dream Houses on or near Lake Lure?   Looks beautiful there.   I hate it when fire destroys trees in beautiful places.

We had a strong smoke smell and haze this morning...I've been hacking, feel headache-y, and my eyes are stinging!  Many poor quality air warnings. 

Handsome and I go to Lake Lure at least once a year.  We spend a night at the 1927 LL Inn and Spa (famous Dirty Dancing filming location).  Then, we spend a few hours at the Wellness Center at Rumbling Bald...indoor/outdoor pools, wet/dry sauna, couples massage, hot tubs.  Handsome fishes...a lot!  We used to spend 2 nights at RB Resort (the required minimum), but the problem is, even though it's a very nice resort, there's nothing for us to do other than fish and afew hours of the spa experience!  No shopping close by, very few restaurants, we don't golf, and how many times can you "do" Chimney Rock?  So we switched to one night at 1927...like stepping into the well-preserved past...very nice Sun brunch.  The whole experience is serene, pristine and beautiful.

A contingent of Charlotte firefighters is there...hoping and praying they get a handle on this and quickly.   I wish it would rain already!
