I suspect the new board will be somewhat less qvc centered since we aren't a click away from checking out the tsv, looking at products, etc.

@Snoopp   You're probably be right.

However, I always keep several tabs open at once.  It's the best way I shop, whether at QVC or any retail site.  I check the TSV, and competitive prices elsewhere that I've either learned about here, or on my own.  So it's always just a click away for me.

@Caaareful Shopper  My post right before yours referred to "hearsay".

I'm done with this. It doesn't matter. Have a nice day.

@Shanus, You raise many valid points.  I have not changed over to the other forum, and I doubt I will.  And I certainly won’t join QVC on Facebook.  My reasons for not joining the new forum are many.  I am not part of a group here.  I tend to be more serious rather than amusing.  I am sure I annoyed many with my emphasis on the COVID vaccine.

I wear petite clothing, and long ago saw that QVC wasn’t interested in expanding those offerings.  The very slow shipping has been also been harmful.

Like so many others, my DH and I have mostly been at home for a long time.  Face time with family/friends isn’t the same.

This place was my lifeline to the outside world with people from all over the country, living different lives, with different interests, sharing joys and sorrows.  And then, wham.  Forget fostering good will, forget the many posters who have been here for many years—who cares?

I have no interest in purchasing from QVC at all.

@PamfromCT

It's certainly your decision as to whether you join the new forums, but I just wanted to let you know that you would be missed.  And frankly, I don't even remember what your position on the COVID vaccine is, so I doubt that anyone will be holding it against you. I don't consider myself "part of a group here."  I wander around many of the subgroups, chiming in here and there (for better or worse).  So please don't feel that you have to be part of some "group" to migrate over to the new forum.  Just my thoughts.

@Desert Lily   I never saw your post before mine, I missed it entirely when I posted.  I'm never trying to argue.  You tagged me, remember?  I was quietly in my own lane. I still don't know why this started.  Now you want to act like I created this mess.

At least we can agree it doesn't matter.  Have a wonderful day

Re: PUTTING MONEY WHERE MOUTH IS?

  I have never been part of any group here. I commented where I landed on any given day.

  Our attempt to set up the mellyg site was to keep us all together. Those of course who choose to stay together. We have stated that we will be a comfortable place to land. All opinions will be welcomed as long as they are respectful of others.

  Of course the forum will be moderatored. It would eventually become a zoo if it weren't.I invite all doubters to give us a shot. It doesn't cost anything & you may just gain something. We already have over 700 members.

  The truth is the Q is out of the forum business on 11/2. I wish it wasn't happening. I was comfortable here. But nothing lasts forever & QVC is moving on.Rather than be left behind a bunch of us decided to come together & find us a new home.

I do not understand this criticism, and so early, when many of us are trying to get our bearings and help each other in the process.
Posters on these community forums came together here because of QVC, the vast majority know each other because of QVC's forums, and much of the talk here was related to the Q.
So, my goodness, of course QVC will be a topic of discussion on another venue.

Many of us made real friendships here, many of us needed to count on the people being here and this venue being here in times when we were alone, sad, struggling, and also when we wanted to be silly, goofy, and laugh together.

Comforted in grief and despair and celebrated in joyful times.

Wrenching a longstanding, decades in the making, community forum away with a month's notice understandably creates confusion, disorientation, and a myriad of emotions.
I know it's not a "big deal" to some, but that doesn't diminish the fact that it is a big deal to others.

When the trusted neighborhood meeting place is suddenly plastered with notices that a wrecking ball will demolish it in 30 days, its community naturally wants to find a way to join hands and gather elsewhere at least so they can get their bearings and decide how to move forward.
It provides focus.
It's a healthy way to manage change.

I feel we are lucky that @Mellyg is willing to give us her time, efforts, and expertise to create a new forum, and @Carmie, emmaNbug, @Icegoddess , @Mersha, and @NicksmomESQ are willing to volunteer their time, efforts, and expertise to assist in that process.
What they are doing is not easy, especially since there has been such short notice and the need to act swiftly and they are not doing it without being aware of the perils of potential problems in their path.
I think they are doing it in good faith, taking a leap of faith, and they are giving us a gift, and for that I am grateful.
We've posted here with them, we know them, they have been and are a special part of our community.
I apologize for being uncharacteristically cynical, but the old phrase "no good deed goes unpunished" comes to mind.

We have the chance, and the choice, to work together to make a positive transition as we bid farewell and I feel that the vast majority of our posting friends are doing just that.
Anyone who looks at the other venue can see people helping people, pitching in to make things work.
And, for sure, they are discussing a wide variety of subjects.
Yes, opinions are allowed, valid to those voicing them, but for what it's worth I'm trying to concentrate on gratitude for what we had here and gratitude for those working to help us move forward.
Sorry for the rant, I realize not everyone will agree with me, and we learn from hearing other perspectives, but I wanted to weigh in while I can.
Be safe and well, my posting friends.❤️
