@Q4u @DiAnne @chickenbutt @Imaoldhippie @blackhole99 and all ladies that so kindly held my hand,
DH went to the large home store today and found a top loader, large capicity LG washer with 4 1/2 stars at $400.00 off. Looks like that's the way we're going.
Thank you all!![]()

I had what I called politically correct washer and dryer. I hated both machines. My daughter had replaced her washer and dryer with the old fashioned machines, as recommended by her local appliance store salesman.i did the same...Speed Queen washer and dryer...easy to use, able to wash and dry without problem, and no special care to keep them going.

My front load washer is on its last legs. We had a repairman come out the other week and told us the problem. It would cost $500 to fix it so we'll wait until it finally kicks the bucket. We asked him about what is the best brand? He just said no matter what we get be sure to get an extended warranty. For you all that prefer a top loader, do your homework before choosing it. A top loader is a lot less efficient than a front loader. I can get either this time around but I'll still choose a front loader. Love it!

So sorry! That's the pitts!
I have LG washer and dryer and they are great. Have had them for 12 years. Got mine at Lowe's.
I have an LG front loader HE washer too. I've had mine for 7 years and (knock on wood!) not had a single problem. It does a great job washing my clothes and because there is a magnet in the door to keep it closed but not shut all the way air circulates so it doesn't get that moldy smell.

Just did the first load in the $1,000 LG washer (We got $400 off). No, it didn't reach down and take the clothes from my hand!Boy is it deep! The next one was SO deep I couldn't reach the bottom!
Seems to have done well. Now trying the dryer.
I think we have success!
