Thanks for thinking about us.  We are okay but this tragedy is absolutely horrifying.

This flooding will come down the Guadalupe River to Canyon Lake (where we live). CL is an 8000 acres flood control (for further downstream) built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the 60s.

The drought has wreaked havoc on our lake which is extremely low.  The flood waters will flow into CL but should not breach the dam.

However, the loss of life is not worth filling up the lake.  Y'all can look up KENS5 or WOAI in San Antonio to see some of the footage.

Again thanks... and if you are so inclined, pray for those missing.

I've been watching KSAT 12 livestream all day.  Just horrible.  I'm about 15 miles from the Guadalupe at Spring Branch.  It was about 1.6' and is expected to peak at  33' or 37' which will put it over the bridge at 281.  They are talking to residents who don't seem to be taking it too seriously.   That makes me nervous.  Canyon Lake being so low prevents worse flooding.  Hope there's no more rain tonight.  I probably will be up late tonight!

@kze  It makes me nervous, too.  We were following someone home this evening and the fool stopped in front of us to look at the Guadalupe (and it hasn't even gotten here yet).  I've heard people are at Rebecca Creek walking in the currently dry bed.  What is wrong with them?
