@MamaWick. I'm watching news reports on the Texas floods in your area. It sound horrendous, so I'm thinking of you and hoping everything is okay in your immediate area. I can remember some terrible past floods in the Hill Country.

@MamaWick And anyone affected by the floods, sending good wishes for safety.
MamaWick, how's cutie pie, Miss Willow White? I miss her. Do you still have your FB page? How does one join?

My TX friend just wrote me about it, most effected is a town called Kerriville. My DH who is an avid weatherman and knowledge of meteorology explained it to my friend and why it is happening.

If I recall correctly she's in the New Braunfels/Comal county area and she's ok, I don't think she lives near the river... they are saying flooding today in Kerrville, Comfort, Hunt area is worse today than the last bad flooding which happened back in 1987.....
Praying for all those impacted by the devastating flood
Kerrville is 99 miles northwest of New Braunfels, Texas, is located in Comal County, roughly 32 miles northeast of downtown San Antonio. It's considered part of the Greater San Antonio metropolitan area and is also within the broader Austin-San Antonio corridor. Surrounding cities include San Marcos to the northeast, Seguin to the southeast, and Schertz, Cibolo, and Selma to the south.

@Spurt. Where have you been? I've missed you and am glad you're back, if only temporarily.
Seems like MamaWick lives near a big lake but I don't recall the name.
I keep thinking about all the kids in the many camps in the area. Parents must be frantic.

The closest lake is Canyon Lake and its so devasted by the drought we've been having, the rain would be very welcome....it's at 46.3% capacity
Yep all those poor kids at camp and people who took their RVs down near the River.....A real tragedy...so very sad!
Oh, I've been around.... sticking to daily sports, the NFL topic. I also did respond to a thread on stupid commercials, and another about Barbara Stanwyck month on TCM, and another on HGTV going downhill....
I just got tired of fighting the endless battle of posting suggestions regarding QVC hosts/programming but no one at the Q seems to care, yet financials continue to decline, you'd think they would want to try something new...I see that some hosts that made me turn the channel left, but one returned as a product Ambassador or whatever she's called now, can't win for losing...![]()
So perhaps you'll see me here and there... ..Take care

Thanks for thinking about us. We are okay but this tragedy is absolutely horrifying.
This flooding will come down the Guadalupe River to Canyon Lake (where we live). CL is an 8000 acres flood control (for further downstream) built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the 60s.
The drought has wreaked havoc on our lake which is extremely low. The flood waters will flow into CL but should not breach the dam.
However, the loss of life is not worth filling up the lake. Y'all can look up KENS5 or WOAI in San Antonio to see some of the footage.
Again thanks... and if you are so inclined, pray for those missing.
