Are you on a cellphone, @cody2?

I remember trying to be funny when I was first posting. I had trouble remembering people's long nics and we didn't have the automatic @ function that we do now so I suggested a new rule that nics could only be two syllables 🥹

The place exploded with scorn for me 😜  I still remember a few posters that figured out I was joking and came to my defense.

@tansy LOL. it was the wild and wooly West. Unknow frontiers. There was a time or 2 I thought I should go into a witness protection program for a while before returning under an alias. I think that was a brilliant suggestion you made. I have noticed that we seem to share a same sense of hurmor.  And sometimes others just don't get it.  I am on a big old computer on my desk.  I can't conduct business on my phone.  Poor vision and sausage fingers don't type well on a phone.

@ I agree. Totally. I have been here since the beginning and it sure has changed. We need more threads started too. Not hot topics that wind up slinging mud either. Jmho

@cody2  I liked your paragraph too. It was very sensitive and sweet. It's unfortunate that there are just some negative people on here, mixed in with some truly informative, interesting and just out right kind people. I tend to ignore the negative.....it's not worth it. I enjoy the others.

@shoekitty  I've noticed that even the most innocent of topics get twisted, and wind up having some kind of agenda. 🤦🏼‍♀️

There's always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it.
For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don't hurt.

I look at certain forums. I have no interest in many of them so I skip them.

I'm tired of the few who are always nasty so I don't post as much as I did in the past. I'm not sure some people would know kindness and empathy if it bit them on the nose.

Posting on the QVC forum is not the end-all, be-all in life--it is a simple online amusement.

Most people get to it when they have the extra time and a bit of energy.

Nasty posts do not influence my time on this forum--those people seem sad and need to "get a life."  I just get sick of the host critiques, because not one forum poster here knows the real ins-and-outs of the job, and none of us could probably be half as successful as the hosts who have stuck it out for decades!

I agree with most of what you said.

I think anyone who has been in sales of any kind knows more about a host's job than those who haven't.

Then there are some people who think Q should cater just to what they like.  smh

It's slow compared to how it used to be about 15 or so years ago before they revamped the boards in a major way.  It used to be so busy with threads flying at times with hundreds of posters online at once!  Plus it could get very nasty at times.  It's much calmer today with a smaller forum family.

@Effie54

I am so sorry that " troubled / problem " posters kept you from posting your quest for information on this board.  If you did post, then you may have struck gold with answers or information provided.

The real world and the online world are made up of the same types of folks:  some like to provide help or support if needed to others; others, project their hostilities instead.

Knowing this hopefully you can let the anticipated snarkiness slide by and not let the troublesome posters determine your ability to get helpful information or insights.

I relearned this lesson online when I first posted and got deluged with snarky remarks from folks who loved Christmas glitter inhabiting their abodes for years despite vacuuming !   Hope this helps....

@jlkz  Wow, thank you for your sweet response. Though I've learned to develop a thick skin being on the forums (which is not really in my nature, since I'm sensitive), I just jump over the negativity. But I will say it can be incredibly annoying and unnecessary. I'm a nice person, so I can't reconcile being nasty, snarky or sarcastic to someone. I will say, I'm in agreement with you regarding Christmas glitter. Yup! Thank you again. 💖
