Perhaps someone could explain to me the impact of China or Russia gathering info from being on various sites. I don't have the power, influence or money to make any difference in anything. If they want to see that I'm watching horse, puppy or dance videos, be my guest. There are enough things right here to be concerned with other than some foriegn entity knowing my viewing habits. I really don't think they're interested.

@moonandthestars I don't have an account & browse to my heart's content. I don't have a smart phone either so I browse using TikTok's website on my desktop computer.

Maybe you need an account to browse if you use its app?

I’m not up to date on China, but Russia data mines to use the info to hack into accounts. They also create fake social media accounts to post controversial opinions that drive arguments and division, sometimes on even seemingly innocuous subjects.

@Mz iMac I edited my original post. Sorry - I was actually agreeing with you in that someone does not need an account to browse tik tok but I didn't type it right. I literally forgot to put the word not in the sentence which of course changed everything!
