A child should never be left home alone. Even when my kids hit their teens, they'll stay with my Sister - probably until 18

But 10th graders are only 15 - 16.

How old does a child need to be before leaving them alone for a week or so?  I know it probably depends on the child and the level of responsibility, but generally.

IMHO it should be at least 16 years old.  Just pray they have no parties while you're away.  LOL.

A child should not be left alone.

When you ask if a child can be left alone you already know they are too young to be alone.

I would also have to say, not before 18 and only if they had shown themselves responsible.
