Re: HOUSE GUESTS ....LOVE EM? OR?

I like houseguests because I get to spend time with people I don't get see on a frequent basis.  I miss my friends and family.

Re: HOUSE GUESTS ....LOVE EM? OR?

Jeez, I am definitely in the minority here.  I love houseguests , and have hosted plenty of friends and family.  My family is literally scattered across three continents, and so when they visit is a huge deal.

Decades old friends all live in the east coast, while we are in the SW, so it's not a hop in the car for a couple of hours for a quick visit.

When they come we always have a great time, and everyone pitches in.  Everyone has insisted on taking us out to dinner or lunch, so we are not cooking for them everyday.
I guess it all depends on the level of friendship, and if the people visiting, be it friends or family, know how to be good houseguests and if they are considerate.
Reading some of the posts, I feel like I have hit the jackpot in the houseguests department.  I feel blessed!

My hubby and I love company ; so overnight guests are not a problem . We only invite people we want to stay overnight. I like pampering my guests and try to make them feel " at home" as much as possible. Bottom line is that I don't want or feel comfortable with you staying overnight...you don't !

My policy? Absolutely NO overnight guest. I'm happy to recommend local hotels.

No....no house guests. We're very friendly, but not so much on sleepovers.

Living in a one-bedroom apartment - sleepovers rarely happen.

I have a sofa bed in the living room and only twice in 25 years it's been used.  Cousin and I had an early train (Amtrak) to catch and it was more convenient for her to stay here.

@Desertdi  I just Googled it and it sounds so cute. I don't know if it's the same as a "Tiny House" just a different name. I like the name Casita better.

It was the right size for you and your mom and I know that your glad that you were able to do that. Just having her right there.

@Sage04    It's not a "tiny house".....more like a separate "guest house" or cottage....    di

This is how we grew up. Every Company is welcome. We still do this often. Thanksgiving is coming up and we are so looking forward to it. Four houses involved so there is plenty of room. This is usually from Wednesday to Sunday when they leave.
