Personally, I would not give to a homeless person. They might want to buy drugs or alcohol. Much better to donate to a reputable organization. Check out charitynavigator.org to see how much they actually get and what the CEO's makek.

It could have been lost by a kid on a bicycle who stuffed it into his pocket. I'd advertise "a sum of money found" in your newspaper before spending it.

@Kachina624@In the old days that would probably help but now most people I know don't get the paper.I could put a sign on the pole but then I don't need a bunch of calls from people who could be just trying to guess the amount.

Please, there is no point in history where you could ever find the person who dropped that money. Not unless they put their name, address and phone number on the bills. What are supposed to do? Take a $200 ad out in the paper looking for the owner of two $10's and a $5...found on the corner of Main and Elm...lol Don't let people guilt trip you into not enjoying your little wind fall. Don't believe all the "I'd donate it" stuff either. It's $25, not $2500. I'm sure that at some point in life, you have dropped a $10 or $20 somewhere, we all have.

....that reminds me, when we were kids
if we said we found money,
Dad would say "if it has a president on it, it must be mine"
he also said, once he thought he made a mistake but he was wrong
...such a comedian! LOL

A decent bottle of wine. Make a toast to the person who lost the money honoring them when the bottle is opened
