I think the subject of this famous woman's Christmas List has been mentioned here before. Just because it's on her list, does not, in the least, influence my purchases. It may, in fact turn me off because most likely the the hype has increased the price or the product or it's just not "all that". 

Last night, Shawn hawked a cream "on the list" and no sale here.

@Shanus There will always be individuals who don't follow in the footsteps of some other person, celebrity or not.

At the same time, celebrity endorsements apparently work much better than many other kinds of endorsements.  I say that because my memory can go all the way back to Dinah Shore urging us to see the world in a Chevrolet and some undoubtedly can go even farther back than Dinah.

Works in the opposite direction, too.  Endorsements have made many celebrities in entertainment and sports in particular into multi-millionaires.
