   I remember she was wanting to do her hair and I suggested possibly a hairdresser could come to her because my friend does that. She replied that she checked and  there were none in her area.
  I felt so bad for her because so much was wrong and she didn't know where to find proper help or where to start.

  I think her forum friends gave many good suggestions and she knew we were concerned for her.
  Sad tears for a beautiful lady.

It's possible her former student and hairdresser moved away or perhaps had a baby.  Many of her students signed the guestbook with their maiden and married names.  She was adored as a teacher, very memorable, left a lasting impression.

She really touched some young lives.  And how sweet for the guy posting about how welcoming she was when he came to her home.  That's something special.Heart  I'll bet that went for anyone.

Her first name may have been Elizabeth as her mother's first name was listed as Betty.  (Just an assumption on my part. I don't think E stood for educator.)

@SouthernBee
My take on the initials is that E is her first name. Our local obituaries usually list the full name given at birth, whether that's the name the person has used, or the name they are known by.

After reading the many posts of condolence on this site, and those on the funeral home site, it's clear that Cathy touched many lives in such a positive way. I always enjoyed her OOTD posts and looked forward to seeing them.

She was a beautiful lady with a gracious soul. Truly, a life well lived.  RIP ECBG. You will be missed by many.

Re: ECBG update

I've already posted my condolences on this thread. It's very heartwarming to read nice memories and condolences from so many posters. 🥰

I don't think it's appropriate to speculate on what happened. I realize people are curious, and I understand posters are trying to make sense of a very sad situation, but we have no idea what medical decisions were made or not made. To continually discuss and take guesses on her physical and mental health before her passing is very inappropriate IMO. Unless we're family or very close to the family that information is not our business. Let it go. JMO

Enjoy the holiday!

I agree.  Wish they'd just stop.  But they won't....

@wilma   I agree.

There is absolutely no point in speculating.

We are not privy to what happened.

I hate to see posts taken down and the thread locked.

Please be respectful of ECBG's family.
