I have a townhouse and I have lights on timers on all floors that go off between 1-2 am and on between 4-5 am, so door closed for me.

Always open.

I know they suggest closing door in case of a fire while you are sleeping.

Open.  I used to sleep with it closed and then when I got married, DH wanted it open so it's open.

I slept with it closed for years, but our kitty would sit outside our room and M E O W, M E O W, M E O W all night long until we opened the door, so I just started leaving it open.  😹

Open.   I can't stand having the door closed.  I need the ventilation and I want to hear if there are any unusual noises during the night.

Growing up door was usually open so the 2 cats or dog could wander in or out; now at my house I leave it open (as someone else mentioned too many clothes hanging on door to close it but also for the air circulation); at my parent's house (where I have been staying since March) the door stays open otherwise the cat would probably be scratching it like crazy to get in, even though he won't sleep on the bed with you.

Over 25 years ago I saw a program on tv on fire prevention where they kept saying, "close the door" in response to various scenarios.  From that point on all bedroom doors were closed at night in our house.  I keep a water dish in my master bathroom for my two dogs and leave that door open nightly.  If I don't do that they're like preschoolers in the middle of the night, waking me up for a drink of water.

Closed for sure! Something about the door being open at night doesn't sit right with me lol. Same with my closet, if it's open at night it feels creepy!
