My bedroom is a loft - no door!

Slightly open.  If there is a fire I want to know about it.  Of course there is a smoke detector in the bedroom as well as the living room, but it still puts my mind at ease a bit.

So many variables!

Don't want cats waking us, or on our bed, or in our bedroom or even upstairs.  They have a million other places to lay/sleep.

They don't come with us to our summer house, so door is open.  Usually.

@Mom2Dogs   Just seeing this now and only read the first few responses which seem to trend to having the door open.

I was always told by my fire department friends that having the doors to rooms closed while asleep was safer.  And even as a child that's how all in my family slept, and I still do.
